Today at the hospital chapel, I experienced one of those beautiful "God moments."
When we arrived, I noticed someone already sitting at the piano, gently playing. He was wearing a hospital gown and connected to a mobile IV pole. At first, I wasn't sure, but the more I looked, the more familiar he seemed.
It was my former choir director from St. James, where I served many moons ago.
I walked over, introduced myself, and asked if he would be willing to accompany us during the Holy Mass. With a warm smile, he said yes—and even more wonderfully, he said he remembered me too.
Because his eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, we chose hymns he knew by heart. Despite being a patient himself, he played throughout the Mass. You could immediately feel the difference. The music lifted the atmosphere, drew people more deeply into prayer, and brought a beautiful sense of peace and reverence to the celebration.
As we said our goodbyes, I noticed a spark in his eyes. It reminded me that the good we do is never wasted. Long after titles fade and possessions are gone, the kindness we show, the talents we share, and the love we give leave lasting imprints on people's hearts.
Perhaps that's one of the ways we store up treasures in heaven—not through wealth or recognition, but through simple acts of service, offered with love. We may never fully know whose life we've touched, but God does, and nothing done for Him is ever wasted.
What a beautiful chance encounter. God is so, so good!

I got one buyer during the holidays. Then a few leads here and there.
