Designer Mutts by Laura

🐾 Meet Angie! 🐾

If you’ve been into the shop lately, you may have had the pleasure of meeting our wonderful groomer, Angie! 🤎

Angie is one of those people who just gets dogs. Big dogs, little dogs, wiggly dogs, nervous dogs, fluffy dogs, and everything in between. She has a genuine love for them and a wonderful way of making them feel comfortable and cared for while they’re in her hands.

Pictured here is Angie with her sweet girl, Sarah, looking absolutely adorable in her breed clip. ✂️🐶

As Designer Mutts grows, one thing isn't changing: the dog comes first.
Comfort, trust and a positive grooming experience will always matter more to us than chasing a "perfect" groom.

I'm so grateful to have Angie alongside me and excited for all the dogs and families who will get to know her. ❤️🐾

Don't forget to nominate a deserving pup for the groom giveaway! ✂️🪮🧼🐾

🎉🐾 10 YEARS OF DESIGNER MUTTS BY LAURA, GIVEAWAY #1!🐾🎉

Ten years of wet dogs. Hair absolutely EVERYWHERE. Muddy paws. Nervous pups. Big personalities. Tiny dogs with enormous attitudes. 😂

But more importantly... 10 years of being trusted with your dogs.

This little business has given me so much more than I ever could have imagined. I've built friendships, met some incredible families, watched puppies grow into old souls, and become a small part of so many people's lives here in Langdon and the surrounding community.
Because this community has given me so much, I want to spend the month of October giving some of that love back. 🤎

🐾 NOMINATE A DOG FOR A FREE GROOM 🐾

This month, I will be giving away TWO FREE GROOMS to dogs and families who could genuinely use a little extra love. 🤍

Maybe you know a family going through a tough season.
Maybe there's a senior dog who deserves to be pampered.
Maybe someone has fallen on hard times and grooming has become one more thing on an already-long list.
Or maybe you simply know a dog who deserves to be spoiled rotten. ❤️

💌To nominate a dog, send me a DM with their story and why you think they should receive a free groom.
🐾Please include name of the dog, their age, and the nominated families contact information 🐾

I'll choose two deserving pups/families at the end of October.
🐾Entries will be taken until October 23rd 🐾

Ten years in business is a pretty big milestone, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate it than by giving some of that love back to the town that has supported me for the last decade.

Thank you, Langdon & surrounding area. 🤎

Here's to 10 years of Designer Mutts by Laura, and to whatever comes next. 🐾

3 blondes walk into a salon... the first blonde jumped for joy, the second blonde gave me a hug and the third blonde couldn't contain his excitement when they turned into the parking lot. And they were all on their very best behaviour!

I had such an amazing day with these cuties plus a couple more. Thank you all so much for the kind words. It made me smile every time my phone dinged. Feeling very blessed 🥰

Celebrating 10 Years! 🎉

Ten years ago, I took a leap of faith and took over an existing grooming salon that had already passed through several different hands. From the very beginning, I was wonderfully busy—there was certainly no shortage of dogs needing grooming in our community.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not usually one to commit to much for very long. To my landlords’ dismay, I refused to sign a lease longer than a year because I didn't want to be tied down. I love change and exploring new places (as evidenced by the sheer number of times I’ve moved homes!). But through all of that wandering, one thing remained constant: my dear clients and your wonderful pets.

The Langdon and area community has supported my business through thick and thin... navigating a pandemic, a terrible ATV accident, and a knee surgery, just to name a few. Whenever I had to take time off, you returned. You understood when business was so busy that I had to close my books to new clients. You understood when my tendinitis meant I had to stop grooming large dogs—even when I tried to push through, my body eventually had to call the shots. Thankfully, with some help, we are now accepting new clients and large breeds.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sticking with me through it all. Many of you have grown from clients into my closest friends and chosen family. A decade later, my love for my clientele and this community is as strong as ever. I am truly looking forward to many more years to come!

Stay tuned for some special offerings this month. I adore fall and Halloween, so I figured the absolute best way to celebrate 10 years was to combine my love of grooming with the magic of October.

Laura ❤️

A little unorthodox i know but...

Need eggs? Just stop by your local grooming salon! There will always be a dozen fresh eggs on the counter for purchase. Yes, it is safe to keep them on the counter! I learned that plus so much more this year while on my homesteading journey! I assure you these eggs come from the happiest and most well cared for flock. My chickens spend half their time free ranging and enjoy an organic balanced diet. And their eggs are just so beautiful.

Sorry Oakley, your modeling days are not over ❤️
