🐻 Bear season is here in Waterton Lakes National Park!

May and June are the months when bears are especially active. Seeing one in the wild is an unforgettable experience, but it's important to remember that we are visitors in their home.

A few things everyone should know:

⚠️ Keep a safe distance — never approach wildlife for photos.
⚠️ Carry bear spray and know how to use it.
⚠️ Make noise while hiking to avoid surprising animals.
⚠️ Never feed wildlife.
⚠️ Keep food and scented items secured.
⚠️ If you see a bear on the road, stay inside your vehicle and avoid causing traffic jams.

Black bears and grizzlies are common in Waterton during spring and early summer, especially around valleys, lakes, and roadside meadows.

Respect wildlife, give them space, and enjoy one of the most beautiful places in the Canadian Rockies safely! 🏔️🦬🐻
