⭐ Celebrating our legacy. Shaping the future. Meet the Centre for Youth Justice and Success. ⭐
We are so excited to unveil the next chapter of CYJS. Previously known as Calgary Youth Justice Society, we are now the Centre for Youth Justice and Success.
Our new name and visual identity reflect how our work has grown and where we are headed. They honour the belief that has always guided us: when young people are seen for their strengths and connected to caring communities, new possibilities take shape.
While our look is changing, our commitment is not. We will continue to stand alongside young people, engage volunteers and partners, and create opportunities that help youth contribute to and flourish in safe, caring communities.
To every donor, volunteer, partner, young person and community member who has helped bring us to this moment—thank you. This new chapter belongs to all of us.

Today is the National Day For Truth and Reconciliation.
Our team has taken the day to commit time towards learning, reflecting, understanding, and taking action. We also recognize the incredibly rich contributions that Indigenous Peoples have made and continue to make to Canada.
In the Lead is committed to advancing reconciliation by building respectful relationships, embracing Indigenous ways of knowing, and supporting equitable and restorative approaches that strengthen Indigenous youth, families, and communities.
We encourage you to take some time today to listen, learn, and reflect. As one opportunity to do so, we want to share this TED Talk that explores creating environments for Indigenous youth to live and succeed.

Do you know a teen between 14 - 18 who is looking to meet people their age, try new things, or wants to build some leadership and life skills? 👀
In the Lead is a FREE leadership program for teens across Calgary. It focuses on confidence, self-discovery, and real-life skills - all in a relaxed, fun, and supportive space.
Our program is located in Downtown Calgary and runs every Wednesday evening (4:30pm - 6pm) from October 7, 2026 - January 20, 2027.
In the Lead helps teens:
⭐ Discover their strengths
⭐ Figure out what matters to them
⭐ Make decisions with confidence
⭐ Understand their influences (friends, social media, life stuff!)
⭐ Tackle challenges in creative ways
⭐ Find ways to make a difference in their community
They will also be matched with a Coach Mentor — a supportive adult volunteer who’s there to hype them up as they grow and learn new things.
PS. Just because it’s a leadership program doesn’t mean they have to be “the leader type”. We want everyone to come exactly as they are! In the Lead is a space to try, learn, connect, and lead in each individual’s way.

✨ In the Lead 180 - Myth vs. Fact ✨
🤔 Myth: Young people who re-offend just don’t want to change
✅ Fact: Change happens when young people are equipped with the right tools and support
When equipped with the right tools to add to their toolbox, young people can thrive, increase their resiliency and create positive connections with their communities. 91% of In the Lead 180 participants have discovered new ways to use their strengths to overcome challenges.
