Sunday's Calgary drum circle is cancelled as I continue recovering and prepare for a move.
I'm doing much better and appreciate everyone's patience and support. ❤️
No Calgary circles are planned until the fall. The next gathering will be in Cochrane on July 5th.

I feel this, especially since mom's passing.The grief that was triggered went way beyond losing her... It kicked up dormant emotions long buried deep... Perhaps that's the catalyst to healing those hidden wounds that hide in the shadows.

Nobody warns you that healing makes you cry about things you thought you were over. Many people start the work expecting freedom. Lightness. A clean feeling of coming home. What they get first is grief. Grief for the years spent in survival mode. Grief for the love that only worked because you were performing. Grief for the version of yourself who never got to be soft, or wanted, or held in the way you needed. The grief isn’t the work going wrong. The grief is the work finally happening. The body is releasing what it wasn’t allowed to feel in real time. Tears that should have come decades ago. Anger that had nowhere to go. Sadness that had to wait. Let it. As slowly as it needs to come.The grief isn’t the obstacle to the return. The grief is the return. What they get first is grief.

Perhaps this is why we find rhythm so healing.

This means our cellular life as an egg begins in the womb of our grandmother.

Each of us spent five months in our grandmother's womb, and she in turn formed in the womb of her grandmother.

What a great experience with Wild Rose Drums sharing the land in Bearspaw. Thank you to everyone that made it happen. I love my Blood Moon drum... she's perfect for ceremony and drum journeys!
