HORSE OF THE YEAR 🐎

New Horse of the Year tracking system!

We’ve made things easier this year! Instead of tracking people down at Finals, we’ve set up a live Google Doc where contestants can enter their horse’s name themselves.

How it works:

Find your event and the corresponding points.

Enter your horse’s name under the correct point category.

Once a name is highlighted, it means it has been added to the total chart on the right.

This system helps us:

✅ Reduce confusion and save time during Finals

✅ Ensure accuracy with point tracking

✅ Recognize not only our great contestants, but also the amazing horses behind them

Coming Up at CGRA

There’s lots going on with rodeo season in full swing, so here’s a quick look ahead!

📍Fort Macleod Rodeo this weekend!

Saturday — 2:00 PM start
Sunday — 9:00 AM start

We’re looking forward to another great weekend of competition, camaraderie and fun. Average prizes will be awarded in all events, along with Junior and Open All Around awards.

🚨 Looking Ahead

🗓️Bowden Rodeo takes place June 27-28 with online entries opening this Sunday at 9:00 AM and phone entries Tuesday from 5:00–9:00 PM, all entries closing Tuesday evening.
🗓️Carstairs Rodeo June 20-21.
🗓️ Pincher Creek Rodeo is coming up July 4-5, entries open June 21.

❗️A few reminders for Fort Macleod competitors❗️

▪️The indoor arena will be open Saturday morning for riding until 12:00 PM
▪️The outdoor arena is closed🚫
▪️Stalls, pens, and self-penning are available through the Fort Macleod Ag Society.
▪️Any unpaid rodeo fees after the e-transfer deadline must be paid at the rodeo office before competing.
