⛽️ As of October 1, Alberta's 13-cent-per-litre provincial fuel tax on gas and diesel is suspended until December 31. If your business runs trucks, vans, or a fleet, that means lower fuel costs for Q4. 😎

Quick math: a crew truck burning 150 litres a week could save up to $19.50 a week in provincial fuel tax. Over the 13-week quarter, that's $253.50 per vehicle. Multiply that by your fleet size! 📈

Two things to keep in mind:
1️⃣ Keep every fuel receipt. GST still applies at the pump, and GST-registered businesses can still claim it back as Input Tax Credits (ITCs).
2️⃣ It's a pause, not goodbye. The province reviews the rate every quarter based on oil prices, and it could partially return as early as January. Budget ahead for 2027. 😉

Heads up if your business owns or rents commercial space in Alberta: your property tax bill is going up.

Alberta's 2026-27 budget raises the education property tax rate on non-residential property from $4.00 to $4.17 per $1,000 of assessed value, a 4.25% increase.

Corporate tax rates haven't moved. If you own your building, or your lease passes property tax through to you, this is a real cost worth planning for before your next bill lands.
