Want to build your brain this summer starting with 10 minutes a day? We have partnered with UVIC to measure the data to show the cummulative effect in the brain via EEG and psychometric survey.

Free to participants for this research cohort.

We have opened 3 previously reserved spots for a July 6 start.

The bands are in for the research cohort with UVIC for MBNR-8!

Incredibly grateful for the amazing response of participants over the summer months.

UVIC will be collecting the data and the results of a psychometric assessment to record the changes in EEG brain signals and self reporting correlated with psychological wellness and neuroplasticity. Once the study is complete a paper follows.

What's the big deal? This is the first time this combination of interventions have been layered in this way with biofeedback for peak performance and wellness and made readily accessible in a convenient, affordable and scalable way. Our latest proprietary, patent pending psychoeducational methodology and software combined with Time 100 World Health Technology company Interaxon, will be available in multiple flexible formats coming soon to a company, individual or clinic near you.

So we announced a thing today! πŸ—£

✍️ We presented a whitepaper, methodology and a number of tests and trials to a number of universities to see who had interest in partnering with us for an academic study on our proprietary mental performance program and we came to an agreement with the University of Victoria. (see the formal announcement at the link) https://www.think-fx.com/uvic_research πŸ”¬

πŸ™‹πŸ½ A number of universities were interested and we were fortunate to come to an agreement with the University of Victoria and Dr. Olave Krigolson through the Theoretical and Applied Neuroscience Laboratory. 🧠

There is so much research talent in this field including University of Lethbridge, University of Calgary and University of Alberta, but Olave's work with mobile EEG devices validating efficacy, testing with NASA sponsorship, working with Tibetan Monks and consulting with world leading sport-shoe manufacturer research team made U-VIC the perfect fit. πŸ₯‡

(One other criteria that made him a good fit was that I learned that Olave played on a rival basketball team in high school in B.C. and he was still willing to do it) πŸ™‚

Never in my life have I used the words "over the moon," but I am about this. 🀸

The program basically combines and layers proven brain training in a very specific program that actually measures and shows improvements in brain function in the sticky things that get in our way.

🎯 Internal distraction,

🎯 external distraction,

🎯 calm,

🎯 focus,

🎯 fear response,

🎯 decision-making,

🎯 burn out,

🎯perspective and many more.

We have found that stated results vary depending on individual circumstance and some benefits are recognized the first time an individual experiences a situation and needs to draw upon a new response for the first time.

Custom, credible neurofeedback training is typically out of reach of most due to cost and convenience, but this will make it more accessible to more people. No longer for just military special forces, surgeons, professional athletes or fortune 100 executives.

There's more detail on the website, and we are also currently looking for 30 individuals to participate in the research study in late spring. To cover some of the research costs of the device, we are charging a material fee of $199 per person for the highest tier of the training priced at around $2,000.

Soooooo Excited!!

Our MBNR-8 prototype App is almost complete! βœ”οΈ

πŸ•’ Start with 10 minutes per day

Protocol 1️⃣: The Foundation is setting the stage for increases in brain alpha wave size, calm and reduced distraction.

Protocol 2️⃣: The Catalyst helps increase alpha wave speed, increases focus, enhances cognitive power and reduces cognitive decline

Protocol 3️⃣: The Integrator strengthens the neural pathway between the goal setter and the "feeler" for motivation to support your intentions.

An 8 week dosage proven in thousands of studies to make physical changes in the brain. 🧠

What kind of support do you experience through MBNR-8?

Here's an introduction to the final phase, self-hypnosis where we support a strong connection between your thinking region to your feeling region. It's easy to have an intention and set a goal in your mind, but depending on motivation and willpower is where we fall apart; think new years resolutions as the ultimate example.

Most of us won't follow through and the few that do depend on sheer willpower and raw effort which is the primary source of burnout.

Strengthening the connection between the brain's CEO (pre-frontal cortex) and the body's "feeler" (Insula) supports the motivational sweet spot to allow for follow through for some and burnout avoidance for others...

02/09/2026

In the high-pressure world of executive leadership, we are often told that "mindset is everything." We try to think our way out of stress, reason our way out of anxiety, and willpower our way into focus. But there is a biological reality that most leaders miss: It is nearly impossible to talk your brain into being calm when your body is screaming "danger."

If you want to change your mental state and achieve the focus, clarity, and decision-making precision required of modern organizations, you must move beyond thoughts and start mastering your physiology. This is the core of the MBNR-8 (Mindfulness-Based Neuro-Resilience) program.

The fundamental truth is that your lungs are the remote control for your brain. By changing how you breathe, you can manually override your nervous system's stress response and switch to a state of calm, relaxed alertness.

The Vagus Nerve: The Wiring Behind the Remote
To understand the remote control, you have to understand the wiring. The vagus nerve is the primary driver of the parasympathetic nervous system, acting as a bidirectional superhighway between the brain and major organs like the heart and lungs.

When you are under pressure, the "gas pedal" of the sympathetic nervous system takes over, narrowing your vision and impairing your "rational" brain. To regain strategic focus and emotional regulation, you must engage your "vagal brake." Stimulating the vagus nerve lowers your heart rate and re-engages the prefrontal cortex which is the engine of complex decision-making and sound judgment.

The Science from Stanford: Why "Cyclic Sighing" Wins
While there are many ways to influence the vagus nerve, MBNR-8 prioritizes Cyclic Sighing (the physiological sigh) because of its proven speed and efficacy.

Recent landmark research from Stanford Medicine found that cyclic sighing is more effective at improving mood and reducing resting respiratory rates than standard mindfulness meditation. While meditation is a valuable long-term tool, cyclic sighing offers an immediate physiological reset, making it the ideal "on-the-go" tool for busy executives.

How to use the "Remote Control":

The Double Inhale: Take a deep breath in through your nose, then at the very top, take a second, shorter "sip" of air. As the Stanford researchers explain, this second inhale reinflates the tiny air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs that collapse during stress, maximizing your capacity to offload Carbon Dioxide.
The Long Exhale: Release the breath through your mouth as slowly as possible.

Why the Long Exhale is the "Mute" Button for Stress
The physiological magic happens during that extended exhale. As you breathe out slowly, your diaphragm moves upward, making the space in your chest cavity smaller. This causes the heart to compress slightly, which slows blood flow.

The brain senses this change and sends a signal back through the vagus nerve to slow the heart rate down even further. In response, the brain releases the natural tranquilizer acetylcholine. This restores mental clarity and allowing you to make faster, more accurate decisions.

The MBNR-8 Performance Edge
MBNR-8 integrates these proven respiratory mechanics with advanced neurotechnology. By using EEG-driven feedback (like the Muse headband), MBNR-8 provides objective, data-driven validation of your internal state. This shifts the practice from a subjective "soft skill" to a measurable competitive advantage.

For Leaders: Cultivate the resilience to maintain clear decision-making under intense pressure.
For Teams: Build an environment of psychological safety and reduced reactivity for true innovation.
For Performance: Use neuro-regulation to switch from being reactive to being intentional and strategically focused.
