GIV Day Appreciation ⭐

Last week the amazing team from Fluor Corporation joined us at our SW Campus for a Group Involved Volunteer (GIV) day, bringing some much-needed TLC and spring clean-up to our labyrinth and garden by our Subnivean Farm🫜

Fluor has been such a valued supporter of ours over the years. The Garden holds a special place in their hearts — and their impact holds a special place in ours.

Supporters of Hull for over 40 years, Fluor has helped plant the seeds of both the concept and vision of Subnivean Farm, and together, we’ve had the privilege of watching it blossom over the years 🌱

It was a rainy, and wonderful, day to GIV! 💙💛

Howdy, friends! Our Stampede Breakfast is only a few weeks away on July 7 and we’re cooking up an amazing day to celebrate the Stampede, and we need your help to make this a memorable event! 🤠

Volunteering plays such an important role at Hull, and we have some volunteer spots that need to get wrangled up, from event set up to making pancake batter to flipping flapjacks, to wearing a mascot costume. 🥞

🌈 Last week, our 6th Annual Campus Pride Parade was LOUD + PROUD

We didn’t let a little rain dampen our spirits, as vibes were high while we walked together in celebration of love, identity, and the cultures that shape us, including Indigenous Peoples and the Two-Spirit community 🏳️‍🌈🪶

We had a photo booth to capture the happy memories, and our good friends PALS stopped by to spread extra joy!

Hull works diligently in creating a safe, inclusive space for the youth we support. We know how important that is in celebrating moments like Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month.

These are meaningful opportunities to celebrate youth and staff being their authentic selves, honour their journeys, and show them they have a community where they belong and are welcomed⭐

Here’s to embracing inclusion, diversity and belonging, today, tomorrow, and every day❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

23 years and counting 🥲

Last Friday we celebrated another successful and impactful Convergint Day. Annually held on the first Friday in June, this day has meant so much to Hull over the years.

From painting kid’s rooms to replacing intercom systems in programs for staff to installing a new swing set so the kids can enjoy the summer weather here on campus, and so many other projects, Convergint sent nearly 200 volunteers 😲to get this work done.

On behalf of the kids on campus, as well as our staff, we are so appreciative for Convergint and for their decades of support!

And we can’t wait for next year 💙💛

June is National Indigenous History Month, an important time to honour and celebrate the deep histories, cultures, traditions, knowledge and contributions of First Nations, Métis, Inuit Peoples, and to the lands we live and work on and all call home.

This is also a time to reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonization, and commit to learning and listening to shape a more intentional and respectful future.

At Hull, it’s our shared responsibility to walk the path of Truth and Reconciliation together. Attending ceremony is a powerful way to listen, learn, and build that understanding. It helps us honour Indigenous ways of being, and reminds us connection, community, and culture are central to healing and growth.

“To have Indigenous inclusion is important to create a culturally safe place with humility, and to give those we support a sense of freedom and direction.” - Casey Eagle Speaker, Hull Services Elder.

We continue to move forward in a good way that is rooted in culture, and connection, and reconciliACTION 💙💛🪶

It’s 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

For the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, Pride is not simply a celebration.

It’s a reflection of courage, safety, inclusion, and knowing that everyone is welcome and belongs.

At Hull Services, we acknowledge and affirm the importance of this inclusion. Our work is rooted in creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can be their true selves and access mental health supports without fear of discrimination or judgement.

We stand with this community in solidarity and remain committed to its strength and well-being. 🌈 🫶
