Days like these don’t exactly make for ideal working conditions outside, especially when you’re swapping out an under-mounted 200 lb AGM battery.
That being said, we’re always happy to get it sorted for our good client, CanaDream RV Sales & Rentals to keep their customers on the road where they belong.
From stuck in the dark to smooth at the touch of a button 🌙⚡️
We swapped out this failed electric nightshade on this RV and got everything gliding like it should again

This is exactly why we never recommend simply adding grease to trailer bearings.
During a proper bearing repack, we clean out all old grease, inspect the bearings and races for wear or damage, then repack with the correct amount of fresh grease, enough to last until the next recommended service interval (typically every 10,000 km).
A lot of people think more grease is better, but that's not the case. The easiest comparison is an oil change on your vehicle, you wouldn't just keep adding new oil on top of the old oil without draining it first. Bearings work the same way.
When excess grease is continually pumped in, pressure builds up and can blow out the rear bearing seal, allowing grease to coat the brake assemblies like shown here. Once that happens, brakes are often contaminated beyond repair and require replacement.
In this case, the contamination was severe enough that the safest and most cost-effective repair was a complete replacement of the brake assemblies. We got this customer back on the road with a full new set of backing plates and drums, ensuring they can enjoy a safe and worry-free camping season.
Routine bearing service is about much more than just adding grease. it's about inspection, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and making sure your trailer is safe on the road.

That time of year again… replacing frozen water heaters ❄️💧
These are just two of the units we’ve repaired over the past couple days due to improper winterization.
Just to be clear, these were not winterized by us — but it’s a good reminder of how important it is to use a reputable company that properly protects your system and stands behind their work.
If you’re unsure who winterized your unit, or want peace of mind going forward, reach out to Wild West RV and we’ll make sure it’s done right.

Nice little update on this hide-a-bed couch setup.
We were able to remove the old broken and uncomfortable sofa and replace it with this new one that turned out to be a great fit for the space 👌

We were able to source an exact replacement converter, as well as swap in a new house battery while we were there to get the system back in top shape.

As we all know, these low hanging terminations can catch quite easily and cause some major damage. Don’t let something like that ruin your camping trip.
We were able to get this one sorted right on site by replacing the damaged elbow and gate valve.
