Here are the racer appreciation awards we presented during the most recent leg of the 2023 , the Western Canadian Summer held at MHDRA Drag Strip. Our heartfelt gratitude extends to all involved in contributing to the resounding success of the final instalment of this year’s events. Thank you to all the sponsors who came on and allowed us the opportunity to provide the racers with the best goodies.

We are excited to announce a series of exciting giveaways for the Bonus Award recipients who were rewarded with extra cash or one-of-a-kind goodies during the Western Canadian Summer Classic held at .
Our Doubles Incentive added an extra layer of thrill to the event, and the fortunate individuals who lucked out in the draw were Brady White, Emily Girard, and Mike Krozser.
In the realm of Last Standing No Box, Friday’s winners were Tyler Zeller and Lorenz Schwarz. Monty Beagle and Brett Taylor emerged victorious on the Saturday double header and claimed their well-deserved extra earnings.
The Grande Tire spotlight was on Britney Taylor as her name was drawn for the bonus award, adding to extra excitement for this well-performing perfect light racer.
Our FTI Bonus ($500) was awarded to Britney Taylor for staging the most competition rounds (excluding shootouts and buybacks)
Lastly, the exceptional collective performance of the dynamic American duo, Brett and Britney Taylor, earned them the coveted custom one-of-a-kind painted helmet, a testament to their outstanding achievements throughout the event.

We kicked off the weekend with a determination to conclude the final leg of the 2023 classic series with a bang, and we certainly achieved that goal!
Anticipating adverse weather conditions on Sunday, the Classics team took proactive measures by combining both Saturday and Sunday races into one huge combined main event. Brett Taylor navigated through the No Box side with determination and secured a win against Gerry Brown! This was Brett's second winner's circle of the weekend after taking yesterday’s Second Chance win. Our other last standing No Box car was Monty Beagle.

Following the completion of the fourth round, our final Second Chance race commenced, attracting 39 racers vying for an opportunity to shine among The Classic’s Champions. As the rounds dwindled, Eric Goulden was the last one standing, seizing his second chance and walking away with a well-deserved prize of $4680!

The Shootouts showcased thrilling clashes on the track. Mark Faul emerged as the winner in the Pathmaker 16 Car No Box Shootout, while Tanner Gaetz was the winner of the 32 Car Artex Racing Box Shootout.

All in all it was a huge day for bracket racing in Western Canada. With over $80,000 paid out today it was the largest single paying day in The Classics history!

In light of the upcoming weather conditions, we're taking a proactive approach to ensure an exciting racing weekend for everyone. Tomorrow's excepted forecast has led us to combine the main event races for Saturday and Sunday.

The graphic displays the updated payout structure. For any inquiries or assistance, Classics Boys (Casey at the back of the lanes and Blaine at the Diva Desk will be available to help).

The shootout schedule will remain unchanged, and the Second Chance race is slated to begin after the completion of the 4th round.

The Friday edition of the Western Canadian Summer Classic has concluded and this instalment of The Classics continued to bring some huge firsts!

American couple Britney and Brett Taylor seized victories in both the 5K Main Event and the 2nd Second Chance category – which was a first in the history of the 4 years of this event! Britney exhibited remarkable prowess, carrying 2 entries deeper than anyone ever has at The Classics, where she raced herself in the semi-finals. Her exceptional performance didn’t end there as she rolled her dragster triumphantly into the winner's circle as the champion of the 5K Warm Up Race after turning on the final win light over Lorenz Schwarz. Tyler Zeller was our other Last Standing No Box recipient beside Lorenz.

On the other hand, her husband, Brett Taylor, encountered a less auspicious beginning to his day compared to his wife. He found himself in the second chance race but he displayed unwavering determination, navigating through five rounds of competition. In the final round he took out Brayden Ochitwa, Brayden broke out by .001 which allowed Brett to roll his truck into the winner circle to meet his wife.

Heartfelt congratulations go out to this awesome couple, and sincere gratitude is extended to all the racers and participants who joined us on this day. A warm welcome is also extended to the new drivers and crew who joined the ranks throughout the day. Looking forward to seeing all of you again tomorrow!

And here we are at the final leg of the 2023 classic series, and we're going out with a bang. The bring home hardware, cash, and championship gear are on another level. A massive shoutout goes to Kurt, John, and the incredible Artex crew for these sick trophies that practically scream dedication and love! You can feel it, can't you?

Hats off to DCSigns for those killer cheques – they've got the printing and sign game on lock for this year’s Classic series. And let's not forget Plaizier Motorsports and Pro 1 for making sure our champions strut out of here in style. Oh, and major props to Roil Projects and Ljay Autobody for that jaw-dropping custom-painted MVP bucket – talk about one of a kind!

Here's to Kurt, John, the Artex crew, DCSigns, Plaizier Motorsports, Pro 1, Roil Projects, Ljay Autobody, and every single one of you who've made the 2023 Classic series unforgettable. Let's carry this vibe forward into the 2023 Western Canadian Summer Classic!

Tonight, Dalton Gareau walked away as the winner of Plaizier Motorsports Clash of Carts. Among a fantastic turnout and fierce competition, Dalton was able to defeat Riley Toth and walked away with $1750.

Thanks to all participants and attendees who showcase their skills and determination. We all cannot wait to see who will be taking home the big cheque tomorrow at the $5K warm-up race. Driver’s meeting at 8:30 am and we are back on track for 9:00 am. See you then!
