George Chahal
Dad, husband, former Member of Parliament for Calgary Skyview and former City Councillor for Ward 5. This is a personal account.
Born and raised in Calgary, George is the Northeast's strongest advocate, fighting for safer communities and equitable services and amenities.
Leadership takes commitment and I want to thank everyone who stepped up to serve in Calgary’s recent municipal election.
To those who dedicated their time over the past years, thank you for your service to our city.
Congratulations to Mayor Farkas and all those elected to Calgary City Council. I look forward to seeing you lead and continue building a better Calgary together.

Grateful to spend the day on Piikani Nation, learning, listening, and seeing the incredible work happening in the community.
I had the opportunity to meet with members of the Peigan Board of Education, hear about the Nation’s rich history, and tour both the current school and the new school now under construction.
We talked about community challenges and the many opportunities ahead, from education to cultural preservation and future growth.
The Piikani Nation sits on breathtaking land along the Oldman River, at the edge of the Rocky Mountains, a powerful reminder of connection, resilience, and vision for the future.
Municipal Election Day! Get out and vote polls open until 8pm.

Calgary deserves a Multi Sport Fieldhouse. A place where athletes can train, families can play, and our community can grow stronger together.
This major project is still waiting for full support from all levels of government, it’s time to make it happen.
Let’s build a healthier, more vibrant Calgary. 💪
Athletes, coaches, and fans, let’s raise our voices and advocate for the future of sport in our city.

Engaging debate last night with Calgary’s leading mayoral candidates, a meaningful discussion about the future of our city.
We had the chance to meet with many of the candidates and hear their perspectives on the issues that matter most to Calgarians.
Thank you to for hosting, and to everyone who attended or tuned in.
Elections matter.
🗓️ On Monday, October 20, make sure to get out and vote!
Only one turf field in all of Northeast Calgary.
That’s right one.
Families in the north deserve access to quality indoor fieldhouses and outdoor tournament fields.
Sports and recreation aren’t extras, they’re what make a city healthy, vibrant, and connected.
It’s time to invest in North Calgary in our athletes, our families, and our future. 💪⚽🏏🏑
North Calgary deserves a great public park.
North Central and Northeast Calgary have some of the fastest-growing communities — but some of the least access to large, public park spaces where families can meet, play, gather for a BBQ, or just enjoy the outdoors.
It’s time to change that.
It’s time to build our next major park in North Calgary.
Out for a walk — another bus stop, another mess. Calgary, we can do better.
Coffee cups, wrappers, plastic bags… it’s everywhere. We all need to stop littering and take pride in our communities.
But the City of Calgary also needs to step up — install more trash bins where people actually wait, like bus stops and busy walkways.
Do you have spots like these in your community?
Let’s do it! 🚍
Free public transit for Seniors and Youth will make life more affordable for families and older Calgarians — helping more people stay connected, active, and independent.
Freezing fares and expanding free fare zones will also give working Calgarians the break they deserve.
This is the start of a more inclusive and fairer Calgary — where everyone can get where they need to go, affordably and sustainably. 💪

Happy Birthday, Liv! 🎂
I couldn’t be prouder of the young woman you’re becoming.
You’re growing into someone so thoughtful, creative, and kind —
and the most amazing part is, you’re only just getting started. 💫💖
It’s time to talk about lowering the voting age to 16.
Giving youth a voice strengthens our democracy — and cities and countries around the world are already proving it works.
Why not start right here at the municipal level, where turnout is low and the issues that matter most — transit, recreation, education, and the future economy — directly affect young people?
It’s their future. Let’s let them participate and shape it. 💪🌍
Advance polling starts today, and Election Day is October 20!
No matter who you vote for, make an informed decision and get out to vote. Your voice matters.
What do you think? Should youth have the right to vote in local elections?

🐾 Out on our daily walk, Leo and I always come prepared with plenty of poo bags — because a clean city starts with all of us. 💩✅
But it’s frustrating to run into dead-end paths like this one in North Calgary. 🛑
In a healthy active city, we also need accessible, well-planned connections to enjoy.
