✨ LET’S MEET THE TEAM! ✨

Today, we’re introducing you to Brittany! 💕
Brittany has been part of the LNC team for 2 years and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Nurse with more than 10 years of experience in maternal and infant health.

Much of her nursing experience has been in maternal-newborn nursing and public health, including working with Healthy Beginnings. She brings a wealth of professional knowledge along with personal experience as a mom of two to every family she supports.

Brittany has experience helping families navigate a variety of breastfeeding challenges, including tongue ties, growth concerns, and other common breastfeeding difficulties.
She understands that breastfeeding can be both challenging and beautiful, and her goal is to make the journey feel a little easier.

Whether it’s practical guidance, troubleshooting a challenge, or simply providing some much-needed encouragement, Brittany wants parents to feel supported and confident. 💗

And when she’s not helping new moms?
You’ll probably find her working out! 💪 Brittany is currently training toward her first HYROX race this December! 🏃‍♀️🔥

When asked what her favorite part of the job is, her answer says it all:
“Making things a little easier for a new mom.” ❤️

Today, we’re introducing you to another one of the faces behind LNC Melissa! 💕

Melissa has been a Registered Nurse since 2016, with experience in a variety of nursing roles, including Labour & Delivery and working in a physician’s office. She has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2018 and became a co-owner of LNC in 2019. 💗

But perhaps one of her most important roles? Mom of three teenagers! 👧👦👦

Melissa lives on an acreage with her family, along with two cats, two dogs, and a few chickens 🐾🐔 so there’s never a dull moment at home!

Outside of work, Melissa loves discovering new cafés ☕, wandering around HomeSense 🛍️, soaking up hot sunny days ☀️, and cooking healthy meals for her family.

One of her favourite parts of being an IBCLC is getting to meet families in their own space. She loves getting to know the whole family and yes, that includes meeting their pets too! 🐶🐱

Melissa especially loves prenatal education, and teaching families about infant feeding before their baby arrives is one of her favourite things. She believes that having information and support ahead of time can help parents feel more prepared and confident when the big day comes.

She is passionate about meeting families where they are, listening to their goals, and providing practical, individualized support throughout their feeding journey.

Mychelle has been a co-owner of LNC since 2019 and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Nurse.

With over 10 years of experience working in labour and delivery, Mychelle has supported countless families as they navigate birth, newborn care, and breastfeeding. Her passion for human lactation grew through her work as a nurse, inspiring her to dedicate her career to helping parents and babies reach their breastfeeding goals.

And she’s here to support you in both English and French! 🇨🇦

Mychelle’s goal is to help you feel supported, confident, and empowered throughout your breastfeeding journey.

When she’s not supporting families, you’ll find Mychelle enjoying coffee ☕, travelling ✈️, and anything involving a little adventure! 🌎

Introducing a bottle to a breastfed baby can be super tricky!

We know how stressful it can be especially when you are on a time frame for something like going back to work.

It may seem counterintuitive but, try introducing the bottle when baby is happy and full.

Learning to drink from a bottle is a new skill. And it's hard to learn new skills when we're hungry or upset!

Keep things as light and stress free as possible. Keep practicing. It can take some time.
