This Climate Week, we are incredibly proud to see our collective work take the stage. π Yesterday, our partner Dr. Claire Barber presented two policy briefs at the launch of the Climate Health System Alliance, briefs that Praxus Health helped write alongside the O'Brien Institute for Public Health at UCalgary.
One focuses on building a more resilient health system. The other is on shifting toward prevention and community-based care before people ever need a hospital.
This is the kind of work we believe in. Finding the gaps, bringing partners to the table, and staying in it long enough to make the work stick.
We are grateful to work alongside the O'Brien Institute on this one. Looking forward to building a healthier, more resilient Alberta, together. π

World No To***co Day is nearly here. For over 32,000 Canadians diagnosed with lung cancer this year, early detection can make all the difference.
Smoking is the #1 risk factor for lung cancer, and primary care providers play a critical role in identifying eligible patients and guiding them toward early treatment. That's why we've been working with teams across the country to make lung cancer screening a standard part of practice.
We've created tools to help:
π Assess patients' smoking history
π¬ Have supportive screening conversations
π€ Take a team-based approach to referrals
Visit our website to access resources and learn about screening and smoking cessation programs in your area.

Great seeing our Praxus team showing up at today's HPV Vaccination Training in Peel!
It was a fantastic session bringing together Health Ambassadors and staff from community organizations across Peel to explore how HPV vaccination fits into broader cancer prevention conversations.
So proud of the work our team continues to do in the community. πΏ

Last week, the Praxus Health and Canadian Immunocompromised Advocacy Network (CIAN) teams attended Canada's Drug Agency (CDA) Symposium in Ottawa, connecting with patient advocates, drug access decision makers, and health system influencers from across Canada. π€
It was an energizing few days of conversation around how drug access pathways are evolving and how patient voices can be more meaningfully embedded throughout the entire continuum.
We were encouraged by CDA's commitment to collaborative, patient-centred approaches, and left with renewed momentum to keep pushing for equitable access to life-saving treatments. π¬
