"I was the person that had the bright bulletin boards and six different seating arrangements that I would change up weekly."
That was Suzy Potts, Director of Education at Creekside Creative Academy, describing the version of herself who thought excitement was something you decorated onto a room.
Walk into her learning environment now and there's almost no bright color anywhere. Everything is neutral, home-like, and calm.
Suzy worked with our team to create the beautiful and inspiring space her educators and children enjoy every day.
"It has that regulation piece to the kids so that they can focus on what they're learning."
The kids settle a lot faster.

Educators often tell us that they can immediately feel the difference in their classroom.
They tell us the room got quieter. That the children settle faster. That there's more space to move and less to tidy at the end of the day.
The space is doing work in the background, and it shows up in how the day feels.
One space at a time.
Whether you're planning a simple refresh or a new learning space design for your early learning center or school, we can guide you every step of the way. Our Ideabook is a good place to start.

Children can tell when a room was made for them. They may not have the words for it, but they feel it.
That's what intentional design does. At Westchester Torah Academy's Early Learning Center, every decision started with the children and educators who'd use the Reggio Emilia inspired space, not a school furniture catalog.
"This space feels warm, welcoming," is how Deganit Ronen, WTA's Head of School, describes that first moment coming downstairs. The teachers say it changed the way they teach.

You belong here, go ahead, explore.
This is what the learning environment at St. Geneviève Catholic School says to its learners, and it didn’t happen by accident.
With 19 years of experience, Principal Laurie Day had a clear philosophy about what learning environments should do.
She understood, from practice rather than theory, that the physical space is a pedagogical tool — that furniture shapes behavior, that materials carry meaning, and that children respond to the sensory quality of the rooms they inhabit.
Curious what this level of intention looks like? St. Geneviève Catholic School is an excellent case study the types of decisions that go into human-cenetered learning space design.

Imagine a straight-A student who can't remember a single thing they learned.
That's the stand and deliver model at work: content delivered, nothing retained. Rosa Fazio, former Principal of Vancouver's Norma Rose Point School, calls it what it is: learners trained to "sit and behave."
The fix doesn’t start with a new floor plan. It's a shift in who leads the room. Educators become ‘guide at the side’ instead of ‘sage on the stage.’ Success stops meaning a grade earned and forgotten. It becomes a student's desire to learn.
The room has to follow that shift. Multifunctional furniture that lets learners configure their environment for the task at hand. Natural materials that calm the room instead of overstimulating it.
Fazio's question for anyone who calls this risky: "Don't we risk much more by not doing?"

Trends move fast. Furniture doesn't have to.
The curves on a Reachâ„¢ Table are drawn from lines you'd find in nature, not a passing style. They nest into longer or wider surfaces as a lesson grows from pairs to groups to a full class, the same shape doing more with less.
Height-adjustable legs mean the table that fits a lower elementary classroom grows into one that fits upper elementary. It isn't swapped out with trends or as students age and enrollment shifts. It's the constant a learning space is designed around.
That's the promise behind our lifetime warranty: learning furniture built to outlast Pantone colors of the year and a generation of learners. While the design world keeps moving on to what's next, the Reachâ„¢ Table holds its place.

"Choose your own adventure, every day."
That's the mantra at Thrive Elementary School in Edmonton, a school built to eliminate opportunity gaps for children who need it most. Free breakfast, lunch, transportation. And a building that was once abandoned, transformed into a calm, welcoming space where structure gives way to student agency.
Principal Donna Rankin-Anderson wanted furniture that could support that mission. Reach Tablesâ„¢ and Shareâ„¢ Benches replaced rigid rows. Learners move, collaborate, and help with cleanup, because the surfaces have a durable, non-toxic, and chemical-free finish that can be cleaned with simple soap and water.
"As adults we are not looking around the room for a chair that we can fit in," Donna says. "With the benches, it's easy to get the children to make space for an adult to sit beside them."
For the Thrive community, it's more than furniture. It's part of their home.

Walk into any preschool space and the difference between the outdoor, natural world and the indoor one can be quite a sensory shock.
Bright plastic. Primary colors everywhere you look. Laminate tables designed for older learners, but shrunk down to size.
Wild, bright colors can be taxing for the developing brain, contributing to a sensory overload that many children and educators find distracting.
The problem is that the environment itself actively shapes how children learn, how well they can focus, and how calm they are. Traditional early learning furniture wasn't designed with that in mind. Natural Pod's is.
The story changes when biophilic principles are considered in the design of a learning environment. Research shows that integrating elements like wood, light, and plants can reduce stress, improve attention spans, and enhance learning outcomes.
Curious how the environment shapes a child's heart and mind in preschool, Pre-K, and beyond? Natural Pod's Learning & Development expert Kelly Rosensweet explores exactly that.
