This weekend at Canal Days, a small part of my booth will be dedicated to something close to my heart.

Many of you know that Precious Designs has always been about more than creating beautiful pieces. It’s about connection, healing, and community.

This weekend, I’ll have a selection of items—including some special artwork—available by donation, with 100% of the proceeds from those items going to support Brenda MacIntyre (Medicine Song Woman).

Brenda has spent decades helping others heal through music, mentoring, and Indigenous teachings. Right now, she is facing significant health challenges and could use our community’s support.

If you’re visiting Canal Days, please stop by. Whether you’re able to make a donation, share her story, or simply say hello, every act of kindness matters.

CallHome Music Festival - CallHome Music Festival - Brantford - Jul 24, 2026 · Showpass Friday marks the official start of the festival, featuring a full night of live music and our headliner BUSH w/ MATTHEW GOOD & HIS BAND, FEFE DOBSON and our Battle of the Bands Winner on the main stage.

Saw a sweet little bee the other day gathering pollen from a dandelion. The sun made it's wings look golden, so I had to do bees with gold wings!

Made this poster for my booth because this question WILL come up at least once. My favourite is "oh, I can do that!".

Red Dress Day. Show your support for MMIWG2S....there is a walk in St. Catharines at the Marilyn Walker building at 5:30. Welland is also hosting a walk at 5pm beginning at Merritt Island.

Today we wear red for our sisters. ♥️

For the indigenous women who should still be here…
the voices silenced, the lives taken too soon.

As a circle of women, we recognize that Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people face a much higher risk of violence and going missing in this country — rooted in ongoing impacts of colonization, systemic racism, and failures in protection and justice systems.

These are not statistics.
They are our mothers, daughters, aunties, and sisters.

We remember. We honour. We speak their names. ❤️
