Honouring Our Past, Strengthening Our Sovereignty.
We are proud to permanently/honourably raise the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty 2 Territory flag at the Keystone Centre.
The flag was delivered by and raised with Treaty 2 representatives Scott Lynxleg, Keeper - Internal/External Relations and his daughter Quillan Lynxleg.
As a central community hub in Brandon, Manitoba, we recognize that our facility stands on the traditional, shared lands of the Dakota, Ojibway, and Métis peoples. This flag raising represents more than a visual anchor; it is a renewal of our shared treaty relationships, a celebration of Indigenous governance, and a commitment to meaningful truth and reconciliation.
The Treaty 2 flag features elements chosen by the community—the handshake representing peace, friendship, and sharing, and the vibrant colours representing the sky, water, and Mother Earth that sustain us all.
Next time you visit the Centre, we invite you to reflect on this symbol and what it means to coexist harmoniously on these ancestral lands.
🤝 Learn more about our ongoing reconciliation efforts and the territory at the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty 2 Territory Website.
