My little boy turns 8 tomorrow.

He asked for a hockey rink cake, so I made a three layer chocolate slab monster of a cake!! You only turn 8 once, right?!? 😂

Dreaming of spring, flowers, and colour after another dump of snow this weekend. 🌸🌼

Happy Birthday Brendan!!

Salted Caramel Chocolate cake was requested for the birthday boy so I made a triple layer chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and salted caramel in between the layers and I tried a chocolate ganache drip on top (for the first time 😬). I decorated with a little caramel lattice, chocolate buttercream rosettes and a Skor bit bottom.

Piper and I whipped up these snowball cookies in no time, despite the number of things I dropped and/or spilled.

When the adult is making the mess instead of the three year old, it might be time to take a break. 😂

We have been hit hard and repeatedly by viruses and colds in this house which has made it very difficult to bake safely.

Food inflation has also made it problematic to continue offering baked goods through my bake shop. I hope you all understand.

I plan to continue sharing my experimental baking in the kitchen and I’m excited to gift baking to friends and family this year for Christmas, so stay tuned for that journey. 🎁 🎄

Sourdough waffles with homemade syrup and fresh berries.

The best part? I can make a triple batch and freeze the leftovers. Then pop them in the toaster for the kids whenever they wake up with a craving. 😋😋
