Grant applications are now open for the Dr. Howard Krieger Legacy Fund!

Funding is available through two streams:

✨ Community Education Support
For trans and gender-diverse individuals pursuing post-secondary education in fields connected to community health and well-being.

✨ Individual Transitioning Support
For costs connected to transition-related care, including gender-affirming care, prescriptions, counselling, voice therapy, hair removal, fertility treatments, documentation updates, and more.

May 7 is the Canadian Viral Hepatitis Elimination Day.

Did you know that Hepatitis C is a curable infection that affects the liver? Many people living with Hep C may not have symptoms, which is why testing is so important.

At the Gilbert Centre Clinic, we offer:

* Hep C testing
* Treatment support
* Linkage to care and education

On the second Tuesday of every month, the Gilbert Centre hosts a welcoming social space for Gay, Bi, Trans Men, and other men who have s*x with men (GBTMSM) in our community.

Less worrying, more living!!

One of the best things you can do to ensure you play safe is to be informed and test regularly. The Gilbert Centre is hosting a Prep for Pride Testing Event on May 25th. The event will happen on site at our clinic at 80 Bradford Street in Barrie, Suite 525, between 9:30 and 3:30.

We have some news! The Gilbert Centre's Q***r and Trans Youth Program is partnering with various organizations to offer social connection and peer support for 2S-LGBTQIA+ youth aged 12-20! We will bring activities, snacks, good vibes, and a selection of gender gear on request. We can also provide referrals to other supports and services and offer education on 2S-LGBTQIA+ topics.

Keep an eye on our website, Instagram, and Facebook for our monthly program calendar! We are currently popping up throughout Barrie and Orillia with additional locations in the works.

Our May Drop-in Calendar!

Join us for our regular drop in hours, or volunteer with kit-making on Wednesday afternoons.

Please note there will not be a Dinner with Gilbert this month, but we will resume that in May.

As the Gilbert Centre enters the long weekend, we'll be closed on Good Friday (April 3) and Easter Monday (April 6).

On Tuesday April 7th, community can visit our Centre to pick up harm reduction supplies / supplies.

We'll communicate daily about the status of our services. We sincerely apologize for this shift in services.
