Thank you for the SOLIDARITY ETFO ✊❤️‍🩹

SO-SO-SO! SOLIDARITY to Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) members, the 4,500 workers in community health and social services who are on strike or locked out across Ontario, we send our solidarity.

These workers are pushing for a retroactive wage "catch-up" after Ford unlawfully suppressed wages with Bill 124, which was deemed unconstitutional and completely repealed by the provincial government in February 2024. Learn about this struggle and find a picket line at worthfightingfor.ca/picket-finder.

Another key demand is for the government to address years of chronic underfunding in community health and social services to stop ongoing service cuts and layoffs.

ETFO President, David Mastin, said, "Ford's attack on public services and workers who support and serve some of the most vulnerable people in our communities is a disturbing pattern. Enough is enough - it's time to treat workers with respect and value what they do." Solidarity with these workers - your fight is our fight!

Pressure is heating up for the Ford government to deliver funding for services that vulnerable people rely on, with thousands of workers at community and social service agencies going on strike today.

This is a fight for the future of the services we provide, and we’re calling on employers to support this call for funding to shorten job action.

We want to get back to the people we support as soon as possible, but workers simply cannot continue to carry a crumbling system on our backs.

Minister Calandra’s trip to England raises serious concerns. At a time of chronic underfunding in Ontario’s publicly funded schools, public dollars should be spent supporting students and education workers here at home—not on international travel.
