🌿 Our nervous system remembers safety 🌿
Safety is not just an idea....it is something our nervous system learns through rhythm, repetition and relationship.
Our Old People gifted us the tools to return to that place of safety:
✨ Ceremony
✨ Song and dance
✨ Art, weaving, and carving
✨ Sitting on Country
✨ Sitting in circle
These are not simply “cultural activities.” They are medicine for the mind, body and spirit.
Through a two-eyed seeing perspective, we understand that what Western somatic and polyvagal approaches teach about regulation, Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing have held for thousands of years....that healing comes through connection, rhythm, community and Country.
Let us reclaim and honour these practices in our healing journeys for ourselves, our families and the generations to come.

Six Rules for Organizing a Grassroots Regeneration Revolution from Ronnie Cummins, co-founder of the Organic Consumers Association (OCA) and Regeneration International:
“I believe that the main obstacle we must overcome, in the U.S. and worldwide, is that many (if not most) people are locked into disempowering situations that are causing them to suffer from a pervasive sense of hopelessness. It’s not that they don’t want to change. But unfortunately, most people don’t really believe things can change.
I disagree. I believe we can shift the global conversation on food, farming, politics, health and climate from one of hopelessness to one of hope. I believe we can empower the grassroots to rise up and take action, both individually and collectively.”

Yes!
It is why I started as a sociologist and turned to wise and compassionate farming.
"Hunger is a litmus test—not just of our food system but of our values, our faith, and our future. When we act with urgency and compassion, we feed more than bodies. We restore dignity, build justice, and strengthen democracy."

Stewards of reforestation 🌲🌳🌲
This diagram compares the natural vegetation succession process with the Miyawaki Mini-Forest method. In natural succession, the ecosystem evolves over centuries, starting with annual plants and progressing through stages of perennial herbs, shrubs, pioneer trees, and eventually reaching a climax forest over 100–200 years. In contrast, the Miyawaki method accelerates this process by densely planting local climax species seedlings. Within just a few years, the forest canopy quickly establishes itself, shading out weeds, and within 15-40 years, a multi-layered, quasi-natural climax forest develops, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem in a much shorter timeframe. The Miyawaki method provides a rapid and efficient way to restore biodiversity and promote forest growth.
