A special sighting at Turtle Inn by our resident ornithologist, Melvin Arevalo — the Stygian owl is a rare and remarkable bird in Belize.🦉

More commonly seen around the property are birds such as the Hooded Oriole, Squirrel cuckoo and Cinnamon hummingbird.

Join Melvin for a guided stroll through the grounds, or venture with him to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary and Mayflower Bocawina National Park for the chance to spot spectacular species like the Lovely Cotinga, Ornate Hawk-Eagle and Rose-throated Tanager, as well as a host of colorful toucans, parrots and hummingbirds, among Belize’s 590 recorded birds.🦜
