Today, July 28th, marks the fourth day of the sixth lunar month, a day commemorating Lord Buddha’s First Sermon in the Deer Park at Varanasi. This day is also observed as a national holiday in Bhutan. It is a time when Buddhists reflect on the Four Noble Truths, which Buddha taught during his first sermon ✨🌈🙏

Bumdra trek is one of our personal trek. It is about 3800m above sea level. Hike from Sang Choekor Buddhist college to Bumdra takes approximately about 5 hours. It is perfect for travelers who want to experience Bhutan’s nature and beauty without committing to a long and strenuous trek.
It offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Paro valley and on clear days you will also see the Himalayan mountains. On your way you will witness different kind of wild flowers including the beautiful rhododendrons. The trek takes you through dense forest of pine tress.
The highlight of this trek is the bumdra monastery and the three sky burial located above the monastery.
The overnight camping is very comfy and worth the experience.

Ogyen Choling Palace and Museum located in beautiful Tang valley, Bumthang is a must visit.
The old traditional house which has been converted into a museum to promote its conservation and to attract tourism to the village which was largely destroyed during the earthquake in the late 1800s. The residential quarters, the main temple were all rebuilt in a such way like it has never been untouched.
The paintings on the wall of the temple are rarely seen in any other temples or monasteries in Bhutan. It’s unique and beautifully painted by the painters of Tibet.
The quarters for the guest are well designed but the traditional architecture still remains the same.

Throughout the years, Ogyen Choling Palace maintained a strong connection to Dorji Lingpas presence there.
