JANIS, THE WAY SHE WAS (1973)
Este documental de Howard Alk y Seaton Findlay fue estrenado solo 3 años después de la muerte de la cantante. En esta producción, sus creadores se enfocan en los logros musicales de Joplin a través de presentaciones y entrevistas que, además, revelan aspectos de su personalidad. Sin lugar a dudas su mejor película; y la ÚNICA que ella interpreta. la tuvo de 1974 a 1977, se hicieron 23 funciones tocando todo el país , menos Guanacaste, por falta de sala (CINE )con equipo estéreo y apropiado.
LA ROSA (1979)
Esta película está protagonizada por la actriz, Bette Midler y está inspirada en la vida llena de música y excesos de la cantante. El film fue nominado a 4 premios de la Academia.
JANIS JOPLIN SLEPT THERE (1996)
Este largometraje de no ficción narra la historia de la música Texas, lugar donde nació Janis Joplin. La película gira entorno a los mitos de la cantante.
JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE (2015)
