On a beautiful early Spring morning two Societies came together to enjoy and to hear of the spectacular events that had been happening at the DAVID AUSTIN GARDENS in the UK. Michael Marriott and his partner Rosie Irving were invited guests of the Bermuda Rose Society and also the Bermuda Garden Club and Michael Marriott treated us to a enterprising talk and slideshow that open ones eyes to see what it entails to run a Garden of that magnitude. We thank them for their time and dedication and for sharing it with us. This was set in motion by Michael Spurling and Michael Whittall who visited the Gardens last year. Please enjoy.

Always wonderful

It was a beautiful winter / spring day and the members gathered for their monthly meeting to celebrate and rejoice in reaching this milestone in the Societies longevity. To enjoy our 65TH Anniversary with still some of the original members is truly inspiring.
The bench was emblazon in colour and fragrances of the many species of roses that adorned the BENCH. It is a form of gratitude that we say thank you to the pioneers for their vision and wisdom to have started this wonderfull Society. May we try to carry this forward and to enhance the Society also. Please enjoy.

The 2018 bermuda exhibition rises are spectacular. Shadow box displays , cut flowers from local gardens as well as from the Greens garden, in memory of their mother. This annual show is worth seeing every year.

BEAUTIFUL BERMUDA ROSES
Bermuda loves roses and roses love Bermuda’s sub
tropical climate. From October to May they bloom
profusely in gardens throughout the island. And
the Island has a long history with roses, the first mention of
them being in 1639 by a Spaniard who was shipwrecked on
Bermuda’s reefs. Visit public and private gardens with talks by local experts with an emphasis on Old Garden Roses including many whose provenance is unknown and are simply called “Bermuda Mystery” roses.
