We were pleased to host a special reception to celebrate Bermudian alumni of U.S. exchange programs and our continued collaboration with education partners on island to promote pathways to study in the United States. Consul General Hurtado recognized distinguished alumni of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) as well as security contacts who completed U.S. law enforcement trainings and educators selected for a program focused on historic U.S.-Bermuda connections. She also launched our new education flyer listing resources and scholarships for Bermudian students at several U.S. colleges and universities. Stay tuned for more info!

Today we gathered in solemn remembrance at the 9/11 Memorial in the Botanical Gardens for a commemoration ceremony to mark 25 years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001. U.S. Consul General Antoinette Hurtado, Governor Andrew Murdoch, and Minister of National Security Ryan Perinchief gave remarks and participated in a wreath laying, joined by Warwick Academy students. The ceremony also featured a Royal Bermuda Regiment bugler playing Taps, heartfelt prayers by interfaith leaders, and a moment of silence for the fallen.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to remember the thousands of lives lost that day and the brave heroes who risked their lives to help others. We will never forget.
