Idea: really want to start with a door-to-door service where we change the light bulbs, TL lights with its equivalent in LED. One guy and a van, changing a light bulb every 5 minutes could mean the equivalent of anual economies for the client of anywhere from 96 to 960 euro (depending on the usage). Payback period within 2 years, and expected life expectancy twice as long. Sounds like common sense, anyone up for it?

Recycling does not start with collecting garbage, it does however start with making durable products. Making products that do not have a predicted expiration date could seriously enhance our carbon footprint. They are not only sustainable by definition but can also hold a sustainable competitive advantage for western economies. In this market we do not only compete in price but in a price/durability market. Something where our skilled workforce and excellent engineering capabilities should really come to show its true value. A lesson we can learn from an unexpected side, products made under the former communist regimes had to be extremely durable because of the fact, that the regime could not provide new ones to all its citizens every X years, f.e. the Varta light bulbs were engineered and made so that they wouldn't break. This approach could mean a win-win for a lot of stakeholders: consumers, the ecology, economy & state all could benefit!

To make the invoices between companies for 1.green energy production, 2.injection peak & 3.injection off peak & own usage of electricity, we need a total of 3 documents sent by different organisations (2 of which are sent by post) & all need to be manually recalculated. However all meters send their data to 1 organisation (Grid provider), for this service we pay a daily fee. However when asked if we can recieve this info digitally doc. they answer that they cannot do so & can only send (partial info) by post. This makes life needlessly hard!

Zero impact housing will become a necessity. It starts with the conservation of energy (good insulation,...), progresses to various economies of energy (LED-lighting, energy efficient heating systems), next phase is generating it's own energy (PV-systems, wind turbines,...) and finally the storage of energy (battery systems,...). First 3 phases are currently in full development in Belgium (especially phase 1 & 3), thanks to a proactive government. Hopefully we will not loose the competitive advantage, due to short sightedness. It is time to join this necessary devellopment.
