Hoffer) Learning is shaping the future, creating new recepies for new and old challenges and problems on Learning in Organizations is primarily linked to behavior change and performance improvement. The business context, organizations operate in, is increasingly complex, globalized, changing and unpredictable. Therefore the 'reasons for success' today, may very well be the reasons of failure in t

Shared problem solving ... a now brainer ?
Well, still this is an interesting article to understand why diversity in problem solving can be very rich and necessary.

Although most of us say that we don't do training for the training, and that training demands often conceal performance and organization issues, few are those who really try to look behind the issues of a training demand. This is a short manifesto of how you do that... interesting
It fits pretty well our credo at Move! where we find it very important to take all stakeholders in organizations on a journey to find out what the business and perforamnce issues are , before deciding on what the way to go is (and not just assume you can solve everything with training).
Manifesto for learning & development professionals We, the downtrodden and ignored learning and development professionals of the world, hereby shake off the shackles of convention and obedience and proclaim the arrival of a new order!

An interesting article on risk management with two cases, that also for us here in Belgium stay very relevant : the banking industry (remember 2008 and the Fortis, Dexia and other drama's) and the food industry (remember horse meat, industrial oil in food, mad cow and chicken deseases etc...)
Leadership and Risk Culture - Ivey Business Journal It is only slightly arguable, but many believe that the ability to manage risk is the crucible of a leader’s effectiveness. Failure to manage risk and to

This is part 5 of a series of Team Performance where the author tries to give tips. What strikes me is that the responsability to do something about it is very much dropped exclusively in the team leader's lap. Underperformance is also an issue that needs shared leadership and needs to be discussed in the whole team as part of the collaboration and one of the elements of mutual interdependence.
What do you do if your Team is Underperforming? Part 5 – Celebration; Performance Management and Cap It’s time to complete the picture. Having now addressed Leading from the Front; Creating Urgency for Change; Re-Aligning Focus; Training and Education; Ongoing Coaching; Performance Measurement; and Reward & Recognition, I now to turn your attention to three final elements of the Performance equatio...

Look at this interesting video (TED) where André Wierdsma talks about organizational patterns : "being part of the group by being yourself", empowerment, co-creation, measurement versus quality, etc... A very inspiring way of saying the obvious and maybe also explaining a bit about why the obvious is so difficult to be heard.
