The cloud is everywhere, the strategy not yet ☁️💻

With the support of De Cronos Groep, MiCRONOS conducted a survey on strategies at large and medium-sized Belgian organizations.

Over 160 CIO's and IT Managers participated and spoke openly about their challenges, experiences, and strategies for moving to the cloud and become a digital-first company.

In 2015, Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) launched an IT strategy that would systematically take them to the cloud. ☁️

With a head office in Brussels, 5 offices in Flanders and 70 offices and more than 250 employees abroad, there is something to be said for it. At the same time, in addition to the traditional, central perimeter security, attention was also paid to decentralized cybersecurity. 💻

After several security audits and evaluation of a number of security applications, FIT opted for the security suite of Microsoft 365 Defender. "Not only does it lend itself very well to our cloud-only approach, Microsoft also scores very well in security benchmarks today," says Team Manager IT Kurt Spitaels.

A year and a half ago, GO! onderwijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap became the victim of cyberattacks. Especially the software for virtual desktops was targeted. 💻

For ICT manager Jan Buytaert this was not only the final signal to speed up the migration to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365, it was also the reason to take cybersecurity somewhat more firmly into their hands.

On the advice of its cybersecurity specialist SecWise, GO! onderwijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap added the Microsoft 365 Defender security suite to its migration plans.
