Recent verwelkomden we de leerlingen van klas 5A Lassen-Constructie van Don Bosco Sint-Denijs-Westrem voor een dag werkplekleren in ons atelier in Evergem.

Van CNC-lasersnijden en plooibanken tot laswerk en poedercoating: elke leerling werkte actief mee op de werkvloer en raakte vertrouwd met de technieken die wij dagelijks inzetten om onze haarden te vervaardigen.

Werkplekleren werkt in twee richtingen. De leerlingen doen praktijkervaring op in een professionele productieomgeving. Wij ontmoeten de vakmensen van morgen.

Elke haard die Metalfire verlaat is volledig in eigen atelier vervaardigd, van eerste snede tot afwerking. Dat niveau van controle vraagt mensen die hun vak werkelijk beheersen.

SPH House, Sint-Martens-Latem

Decancq Vercruysse Architects approached this rare 1960s bungalow in the woods of Sint-Martens-Latem not as a property to erase, but as a piece of Belgian domestic modernism worth leaning into. The renovation became a reverse case study, drawing on the period’s own vocabulary and on references like Alvar Aalto’s Maison Louis Carré from 1963. Open plan, generous windows, natural wood, restrained geometry.

Among the modernist classics inside the house sits our Avenue closed gas fireplace. CE certified, EN 613 compliant, high efficiency closed combustion. A wide flame picture and quiet operation, integrated into the architecture rather than added to it.

Capucine Guhur and Maeva Henninot of ANTES architecture reimagine a 200 m² Marseille apartment with quiet confidence. Rough plaster meets raw stone, each volume pared back and reconsidered until only the essential remains. At the center, a three-sided Metalfire Ultime D fireplace, built-in and wood-burning, anchors the space with a calm, understated presence.

Where Fire Meets Craftsmanship

For this project, JDB Haarden en interieur delivered a sleek, custom-made solution featuring a Metalfire Urban gas fireplace. This open gas fireplace combines minimalist design with maximum experience.

The interior is finished with panne strips: narrow, brick-like elements that create a warm, authentic look. They bring the atmosphere of a traditional wood-burning stove, paired with the comfort and ease of gas.

Craftsmanship, character, and technology come together here in one strong, refined result.

Architectural Integration

In this layered interior by Merijn Degraeve, every element feels intentional. Material, proportion and light are handled with precision, and the fire becomes part of that composition rather than an addition to it.

The choice for a Metalfire Avenue closed gas fireplace reinforces that vision. Fully integrated into the architectural volume, it sits seamlessly within the space, without visual noise or excess detail. The minimal frame and uninterrupted glass surface allow the flame to read as a pure architectural line, calm and controlled.

At the heart of this project is the Metalfire Avenue 900-60, a high-efficiency, closed gas fireplace with a three-sided view. The fireplace is finished with a distinctive cast iron interior in ribbed Maple Gold, adding warmth and depth to the flame picture and giving the installation a strong architectural presence.

The interior architecture was designed by Laura Calleeuw, with the installation carried out by Bouwmaterialen Vinckier. Together, they created a balanced integration of fire, space, and material.

The Avenue range represents Metalfire’s vision of modern gas fireplaces: high efficiency combined with comfort and ease of use. The generous flame display delivers an immersive fire experience while maintaining excellent performance and control.

All Avenue gas fireplaces are CE certified and comply with EN 613 standards. Each unit is equipped with the latest technology to ensure optimal efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Vacature: Supply Chain Coördinator (Magazijnier)

Wie zijn wij?
Wij ontwerpen en produceren hoogwaardige haarden op maat voor een internationaal publiek. Kwaliteit, maatwerk en innovatie staan centraal in ons werk. Om onze productie vlot te ondersteunen, zoeken we een collega die de goederenstromen – van bestelling tot levering – efficiënt coördineert.

Jouw takenpakket
Als Supply Chain Coördinator ben jij verantwoordelijk voor het beheer van inkomende en uitgaande goederen. Je zorgt voor een vlotte afhandeling van leveringen, bestellingen en transporten, en werkt daarbij nauw samen met collega’s van productie, aankoop en administratie.

Taken:

• Beheer van het magazijn: stockopvolging, orde & netheid, interne logistiek
• Bestellingen plaatsen bij leveranciers en opvolgen van levertermijnen
• Ontvangst en controle op volledigheid en staat van geleverde goederen
• Voorraadbeheer en interne verdeling naar productie
• Organisatie en opvolging van transporten naar klanten
• Registratie in en opvolging via ons ERP-systeem (kennis is een plus)

Jouw profiel

• Je werkt gestructureerd, nauwkeurig en zelfstandig
• Je hebt inzicht in logistieke processen en denkt graag mee over verbeteringen
• Je communiceert vlot en schakelt snel tussen verschillende taken
• Je steekt ook graag de handen uit de mouwen wanneer nodig
• Je beschikt bij voorkeur over een rijbewijs voor het besturen van een heftruck of bent bereid dit te behalen
• Je spreekt vlot Nederlands en Engels; kennis van het Frans is een pluspunt
• Goede computerkennis o.a. Excel
• Ervaring met een ERP-systeem is een troef, maar geen vereiste
