Young researcher Shamel Sinha , an intern of Waste Concern, Bangladesh did an interesting study recently on cloth masks and noted "After noticing the inability of waste-pickers to access enough PPE and constantly being exposed to the virus, I reached out to Mamunur Rahman, the founder of ELLA Pad and coordinator of Ella Alliance. During the outbreak of Covid-19, ELLA Alliance initiated masks making program. Now ELLA Mask an organization that hires disadvantaged women to help make "biodegradable resource-efficient" masks by reusing the scraps from the surplus fabrics found in Bangladesh's vast RMG sector. Their efforts improve the environment by achieving a "zero-waste textile" industry alongside empowering women to learn business skills by working with factory owners." the details study will be available at Ellapad website soon.
