WARBE Development Foundation

A Sensitization Training Session on human trafficking prevention was on 20 May 2026, at the conference hall of the Sadar Upazila Parishad in Narsingdi district under the initiative of the ASHSHASH Project, implemented by WARBE Development Foundation with technical assistance from Winrock International, funded by the Embassy of Switzerland.

The session brought together representatives from government and non-government service-providing organizations.

During the training session, the progress and achievements of the ongoing activities of the ASHSHASH Project were presented by Khalid Mohammad Saifullah, Project Manager of WARBE Development Foundation. He stated that the main objectives of the training were to enhance awareness activities among government and non-government institutions to prevent human trafficking, provide knowledge on the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Prevention and Suppression Act 2026, strengthen coordination among institutions for the implementation of the National Referral Mechanism, and improve and simplify access to services for survivors.

Among those present at the training were Mr. Subrata Kar, Assistant Director of the Department of Youth Development; Mr. Jahirul Islam Khan, Assistant Manager of BSCIC; Ms. Susmita Sultana, Counsellor of the Probashi Kallyan Center; Mr. Shahidul Alam, DEMO Manpower Survey Officer; Mr. Md. Sohrab Hossain, Senior Principal Officer of Probashi Kallyan Bank; Mr. S.M. Sharif Mia, representative of the Daily Naya Diganta newspaper; Mr. Md. Ishaq Faraji, Executive Director of the Anirban Survivor Group; Mr. Kazi Jahangir Alam, Principal of Shilmandi Youth Development Training Center; representatives from the Department of Women Affairs; Mr. Tanmoy Saha of Momtex Group; Ms. Sumi Khandakar, Training Instructor; representatives from other private organizations; OKUP Program Officer; members of the CTIP group of the ASHSHASH Project; and survivor of Narsingdi.

Honored to share that the Bangladesh Delegation attended the 2nd International Migration Review Forum (IMRF-2026) at the UN Headquarters in New York! 🇺🇳🗽 Held from May 5–8, this crucial forum brought together global leaders and stakeholders to review the progress of GCM implementation and set the strategic direction for the next five years. Our delegates made strong contributions across four interactive multi-stakeholder roundtables, the policy debate, the plenary, and numerous side events—advocating for inclusive and rights-based migration policies. The event successfully concluded with a powerful, inter-governmentally agreed Progress Declaration to drive action forward, while providing an invaluable opportunity to visit the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the UN and network with delegates from other countries and international organizations to strengthen global partnerships. 🤝🏛️

আশ্বাস প্রকল্পের উদ্যোগে ওয়্যারবী ডেভেলপমেন্ট ফাউন্ডেশন অদ্য ১৩ মে ২০২৬ ব্যাংকিং সেক্টরের সাথে আলোচনা সভার আয়োজন করে।
এর মূল উদ্দেশ্য হচ্ছে মানব পাচারের শিকার হতে উদ্ধার প্রাপ্ত নারী-পুরুষের আর্থ-সামাজিক উন্নয়নে লোন প্রক্রিয়া সহজতর করা এবং আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে তাদের জোরালো সম্পর্ক তৈরী করা। আলোচনা সভায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রবাসী কল্যাণ ব্যাংকের ম্যানেজার, শাহজালাল ইসলামী ব্যাংক পিএলসি’র ম্যানেজার, টিএমএসএস এনজিও-র প্রতিনিধি, স্থানীয় এনজিও পাপড়ি-র প্রতিনিধি এবং সারভাইভার লিডাররা।

প্রবাসী উপরোক্ত দু'জন রেমিট্যান্সযোদ্ধার মৃত্যুতে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস, বৈরুত গভীর শোক জানাচ্ছে। একই সাথে দু'জন মরহুমের শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের সদস্যদের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানাচ্ছে। বর্তমানে তাদের মরদেহ নাবাতিয়ের নাবিহ বেররী হাসপাতালে রাখা হয়েছে।

লেবাননের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের নাবাতিয়ে, ছুর, বিন্তেজ-বেল, মারজায়ুন এবং সাঈদা ডিস্ট্রিক্ট এর বিভিন্ন গ্রামাঞ্চলে অবস্থানকারী প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশিদের নিরাপদ এলাকায় আশ্রয় গ্রহণ করার অনুরোধ করা হলো। ইসরায়েলের লক্ষ্যবস্তু হতে পারে এমন স্থাপনা পরিহার করে চলুন। যেসব স্থানে আপনাদের কফিল বা স্পন্সরগণ/ তাদের পরিবার বা ম্যানেজমেন্ট এর লোকজন অবস্থান করছেনা সেসব স্থান ত্যাগ করে নিরাপদ এলাকায় আশ্রয় গ্রহণ করুন।
