Dear friends, Dear Colleagues,
I am happy to share with you my newly published paper on a theme of '' Changes in the Hydrological Regime of the Volga River and Their Influence on Caspian Sea Level Fluctuations'' with my colleagues.
It's a work of not a one day covering a long period of time discussions and analyses finally published this morning.
The research given here is mostly based on research results implemented within my Post Doctoral Research at the UNIGE within Swiss Excellence Post Doctoral Scholarship for the academic year of 2021/2022 in close communication with DR. Said Safarov (Head of Caspian Sea Hydrometeorology Department, the Institute of Geography the Ministry of Science and Education of AR) and also our colleague from Nazarbayev University - Emil Bayramov.
Paper is in open access hope you will find it helpful.
Changes in the Hydrological Regime of the Volga River and Their Influence on Caspian Sea Level Fluctuations In this study, spanning from 1938 to 2020, the hydrological changes in the Volga River and their repercussions on the Caspian Sea level were examined. Analysis reveals a correlation between high Volga River runoff and increased atmospheric precipitation in its basin. However, in recent years (2005.....

CASPIAN INTEGRATED SCIENTIFIC NETWORK – CASPISNET
Following series of symposia and specialized workshops and recommendations of a multidisciplinary pool of experts, an International Working Group (IWG) on the Sustainable Development of the Caspian Sea Region - CASPISNET (Caspian Integrated Scientific Network) was incepted in May 2018.
Within latter framework, a multidisciplinary group of scientists from the region Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan were joined by experts from France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States on 13th May 2018 in a special meeting initiated by the Institute of Geography of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
The IWG CASPISNET aims to develop a decision-making support system at the regional level by pulling national resources towards data analysis while developing an early warning system at the disposal of policy formulators while developing a training framework for regional professionals. While connecting global and local dynamics of change to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the CASPISNET also aims to bridge practice-informed environmental and anthropogenic hazards and risk assessments to regional policy formulation for the Caspian basin.
Today CASPISNET gathers more than fifty experts from sixteen countries connecting about forty universities, organisations, laboratories and private companies specialised and working in science disciplines related with the Caspian Sea Region sustainable development following the UN 2030 goals.
