Thursday Ballads!
Pulled up in the carpark before work this morning …. This was my breathwork today, belting out to The Chicks, because this was our therapy growing up!!
Give it a go, it feels awesome 🙌

I usually have a rule of 5 clients maximum in one day - especially as a child psychologist. For every “child client” you have at least 2 parents/caregivers, siblings, teachers, other therapists and more to engage with. It’s heavy and busy work!
Today I broke my rule and have ended up with 7 clients 🙈
So I have to deliberately choose 5 mins of self care at lunch time… today it is sunshine and fresh air (and a few handfuls of chocolate TV snacks on my way back inside 🤪)
We got this 💪💜💜

Some weeks we spend time behind closed doors, advocating like mad for the wellbeing of the children we work with…
This means doing what’s brave; it means saying hard truths; it looks and feels dirty, but it’s all in a weeks work as a child psychologist, hoping and praying that it pays off! 🤪😩😛🤩

Hello Monday!

What a beautiful winters day! Im@out and about this morning - visiting teachers in their classrooms and providing an opportunity for them to learn the first stage of PCIT and how this language and relational skills can help them in the classroom working with children with challenging behaviour.

Teachers are truly magical humans! Watching them do their craft is amazing 🤩 I am so grateful!

After 20 years as a child psychologist, I have never ever seen such amazing results as this intervention.
It’s everything I have ever sought for and preached, and my only regret is not doing this earlier!
So grateful that I am being trained by the best in our country!
This therapy is the gold standard for any child with challenging behaviours.. and it should be made available everywhere!
