Our season opener might’ve been a bit wet, but that didn’t stop Symon Wilde — Wilde Racing from claiming a double for the day with Empress Rossa and Big Rooster. Tom Dabernig — Dabernig Racing also had a winner with Cinnamon Kiss, while Will Gordon and Linda Meech both rode doubles for a successful day at the Bool.

Andy Win has been a standout performer this jumps season, taking out the Grand National Steeplechase yesterday!

Yesterday's victory makes Andy Win just the third horse to complete the Grand National Hurdle and Steeplechase double — an incredible achievement.

A massive congratulations to Shane Jackson and his team, Tommy Ryan for a stellar ride, and of course, all the local winning connections. What a season for Andy Win!

What a brilliant night for our Galleywood Club Draw!

We had a fantastic turnout, and we’re excited to announce that the Galleywood Day draw was won by Gerard Gleeson and GM Cabinets, congratulations! Gerard will enjoy naming rights to a race on Galleywood Day at the 2027 TAB May Racing Carnival along with a hospitality package!

The night also featured a special guest panel, with Laura Lafferty, Melissa Julius and Maddie Raymond, hosted by Lachi Rooke.

A big shoutout to our runners-up Langley's Accommodation, South West Equine Veterinary Group and Alex Pye Electrics, who will also be joining us as race sponsors at Lafferty Thackeray Day 2027, with their own sponsorship and hospitality packages.

The winner will be announced at the CRV Awards Night on Saturday, 22 August.

🏇 What a day for the locals at Sandown Lakeside! 🙌

The headline belonged to Andy Win, who claimed the Grand National Hurdle in spectacular style, expertly ridden by Tom Ryan for trainer Shane Jackson and connections. To top it all off, Shane and Lauren shared some exciting personal news—they're expecting a baby! 👶❤️

There was more local success with Symon Wilde and Linda Meech combining to take out Race 3 aboard Queen Christine, while Chris Ryan's Mr Lincoln produced a brave performance to finish a gallant second in the Crisp Steeplechase, only just denied.

A shout-out also to Laff for a terrific second placing in the opener, while Ciaron Maher was a major presence throughout the program, adding another winner to an outstanding day.

Congratulations to all our local trainers, jockeys, owners and connections on a fantastic day of racing! 👏🐎
