This week, we celebrate the extraordinary contributions of volunteers across Australia 💫 This year's theme, 'Your Year to Volunteer', is both an invitation and a reminder that volunteering has the power to shape lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting connections 💞

Here, at the Harris Community Centre, our amazing volunteers play an essential role in every part of the centre and make all that we do possible!

We are deeply grateful for what our volunteers do to make a real difference in our community, and we thank them for their incredible energy, service and generous spirit 😊

We had a fantastic evening celebrating Ultimo Public School's ✨150th anniversary✨!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Harris Community Centre stall for some 🍿popcorn and/or 🍭fairy floss. It was wonderful connecting you with our centre programs and The Pantry and seeing everyone enjoy our grocery guessing game 🛒

A huge thank you🙏 goes to all the incredible volunteers whose dedication, time and energy made the event such a smooth and successful one.

Ultimo Public School is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a special event on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 (4.30pm-7pm)‼️🎉

Join us for an evening filled with fun, food and entertainment as we commemorate this wonderful milestone!

The festivities include 🍽️Food stalls, 🎨the annual art show and 🎶live performance.

Sydney’s fave street festival 🎉🎊 is returning to📍Pyrmont on 📆 Saturday 28 March—and we will be there!

Come visit us at the Harris Community Centre stall. Stop by for fairy floss 🍭, a snow cone 🍧, and learn more about us and what we do 💞!

We’re also seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ to assist at our stall and help fundraise for the centre. This is a wonderful chance to engage with the community, meet and work with fellow volunteers , and have some fun along the way.

Here's why you should stop by The Pantry for your weekly shop! 🛒 Open every Wednesday, 1 pm to 4 pm at Uniting Harris Community Centre, 97 Quarry Street, Ultimo.

We're excited to announce that the community has decided on ✨ Morning Tea Gathering ✨ as the new name for The Nest!
Morning Tea Gathering happens every Monday between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm and is a time to visit the centre, grab a tea or coffee and chat to neighbours, friends and local community members you might not have met yet! Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you there! 💕
