I am what I am now, because I have been to the bottom of the barrel.

So low that I was ready to tap out.

It’s real, it’s scary, it’s lonely and it’s the s**t no one talks about when owning a business.

Many people see success and $$$ but they don’t see the ugly stuff ( because we are too scared and embarrassed to show it)
In business your brain is on 24/7.
Everyone deals with this differently.

👉This is not a sympathy vid, it’s an awareness one.

For all the business owner out there who can’t say no, who work weekends for the ar****le clients they don’t even like but feel “obligated “ to do.

Say no. It’s your life, your mental health and you need to take charge.
You have better things to do and dont miss those moments with your little ones- I did, and it something I need to live with. (Breaks my heart❤️)

You can always step away. Put boundaries in, and re invent ur business.

The ones who love you will support you!

The ones who don’t, well they aren’t your peeps.

One life people…. One life !

No one, no business, no job is worth loosing YOU over!

Be kind to you, love yourself, because the bottom of the barrel is deep and it’s hard to get out of.

THE ONE STAR ⭐️ REVIEW

I cried so many tears over this, I lost sleep my staff were questioning their career choices, but here is what we sat down an unpacked together.

👉We are human - yes that’s right, we aren’t perfect, and as much as we did everything as well as what we humanly could, we can always learn how to do it better.

👉there are some people you can do back flips and juggle for, and they would never be happy. It’s not the job you did but what’s happening internally for them.

👉we are not the right fit for everyone, and sometimes we have to say thank you for giving us the chance but I don’t think we are suited for each other.

👉Some services are risky, and even though we take all the precautions and discuss all the things with the guest, they still get angry if it doesn’t go perfectly, and we question our career choices and if we should quit lol 😂

Now, we absolutely own our one star review and this make me sick to my core posting this, but know, this absolutely killed me, and a part of my is dieing putting this up, but I want you to know we take this so serious!

There is also two sides to every story so if you read the review, take it with a grain of salt.

Feedback is fuel for us, it’s all so good to reevaluate how we do things and when to say, no babe, we can’t do that!

So I do this from a place of love, because I love my business, and we take so much pride in what we do!

And my girls, I will always back you and hold you up because I know you do a bloody incredible job.

But we don’t always get it right and now everyone is the right fit.

We left the salon for a little excursion to Melbourne to meet the incredible Kim from Kim Moore Hair Education

We got our math brain on, along with some crossed eyes and Panadol because my brain 🧠 really hurt after all the mathing we had to math!

Turns out us hair dressers are bloody smart little critters!

We have to give a huge shout out to Latrobe City Council for the ability to take our business to the next level! You grant helped our team to level up and as we continue to grow our curly empire, our business continues to grow and expand.

We have some exciting things in the pipeline people… Hello curl is coming in a bigger way and we are spreading our wings 🪽

If we could have a dollar for how many guests apologies for how they look, their hair condition, their lack of make up when they arrive at hello curl we’d we rich 🤑

The truth is, we just don’t care about that stuff!

There is absolutely no explanation of how you should look to enter our salon.

Obviously we’d love it if you had a shower in the last week or so 😂

👉if ur having a curly cut - 100% dry hair and NOT tied up, just out and curly.

Every now and again we get told we are too expensive, and I wanted to unpack that.

I am not here to argue or try and get on the soap box and tell you why we charge what we do.

We charge what we charge and we aren’t always going to fit everyone’s budget and that’s ok.

We don’t price match because we charge what we charge based on our experience and our costs and so my staff and I can eat each week.

We don’t compare our prices because we are hello curl and they are our prices.

We are completely transparent with our costing and happy to provide all prices to you, you can see them on our online booking.

Yep, we ain’t cheap, we certainly don’t claim to be!

We really love what we do, we really hope you love it too, and remember your hair is your signature, it compliments you, it gives you confidence and what ever you choose to pay is up to you.
