Members enjoyed a social Morning Tea today celebrating our Product of the Year - strawberries. We started with yummy fresh scones made by Mary, topped with jam and cream, followed by a cheesecake slice topped with strawberries. A great morning sharing memories and experiences with a cuppa. We hope to do this more often.

π Happy Queensland Day! π
On 6 June 1859, Queen Victoria signed the Letters Patent that gave birth to our great state - and Queensland hasn't looked back since. Today we celebrate 167 years of the bold, the resilient, and the community-minded people who make this place extraordinary.
At QCWA, we're proud to be part of that story. For over a century, our members have been the quiet backbone of Queensland - running hall committees in tiny outback towns, delivering meals after floods, hosting youth groups in regional centres, and making sure no woman in rural Queensland ever feels alone. That's the Queensland spirit, and it lives in every one of our branches.
Here's to the Sunshine State, and to the incredible women who keep it shining. πΊ

Congratulations to the 2026 Queensland Volunteer of the Year, Carolyn Robinson! π
Carolyn reminds us what volunteering is truly about β not recognition, but creating real change.
As the founder of Beyond DV, Carolyn has dedicated herself to supporting women and families rebuilding their lives after domestic violence. Her journey shows the power of community: families, volunteers and supporters all working together to improve the lives of others.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, itβs a moment to recognise the countless people across Queensland who share Carolynβs passion and give their time simply because they care. And if you haven't volunteered before, this week is the perfect moment to take that first step.
It's your year to volunteer. Get involved at volunteeringqld.org.au

πΈ This National Volunteers Week (18β24 May), we're shining a light on the incredible heart of the QCWA; our volunteers.
Every week, our members give their time, energy, and care to communities right across Queensland. From running stalls and hosting events, to supporting those in need and keeping our branches thriving; this work matters, and so do YOU.
This year's theme is Your Year to Volunteer, and for so many of our members, volunteering isn't just something they do, it's who they are. π
To every QCWA volunteer: thank you. Queensland is stronger, warmer, and more connected because of you.

π Happy National Volunteers Week to the backbone of the QCWA, our amazing volunteers!
Across Queensland, our members are quietly doing extraordinary things; baking, fundraising, advocating, connecting, and caring for their communities every single day.
We see you. We thank you. We celebrate you. π
