We are about:
- Promoting Barbering as a professional stand alone trade. (we are NOT hairdressers)
- Pushing the Barber trade as far as possible.
- Inspiring the next generation of barbers by creating opportunities to showcase there work.
- Providing educational seminars,events and workshops that promote Barber Certification. For Barbers BY Barbers.
- Konnecting and creating networks for local Barbers and Barbershops from New Zealand and Australia.

Attention!
😎due to Covid there will be strict social distancing on our Christmas Day lunch.
We will have Covid marshalls in vests ensuring that people are adhering to social distancing.
A person will be delegated to signing everyone in.
Masks will be on offer for all those that need it.
Hand sanitiser will be on hand for everybody that attends.
But please come and enjoy the meals that have been prepared.
4 Barbers will be on site donating free haircuts for the homeless from 1pm - 4pm ✂️
If you would like to volunteer on the day or provide a meal please DM our page for more details.
We will be at Prince Alfred Park from 1pm to Boxing Day 9am.

TO MY MEN FOLK
You'd be surprised at how many times a man sits in his car, on his bed, in the bathroom, in the living room and holds in his tears because he’s so stressed or lost or confused or hurt or ready to give up...But when he shows his face again he looks perfectly fine, unbothered and he still manages to smile and go about his business like nothing happened... Men are some of the most resilient, overlooked, and in the mind underappreciated to go through so much…Can I speak to your spirit for a second? You are the glue that holds everything and everyone together, your very presence is power, when you speak it resonates and yet your silence is deafening... in all that you go thru as you fight for not only who you are but who you are striving to be, just know I See You!! If you're a man and you're reading this I just wanna say I Love you and I appreciate you!!
When you can't win the day, just keep winning the moment and know that I see you!! It starts from the inside out!!!

St Therese Catholic Church. Family prayers there at 7pm tomorrow and apo on Friday night all night.
We'll also hold a memorial for Jojo at 2nd ave beach most likely next weekend.

Mr Joe Tongi such a blessing to cross paths with you. Your presence always lit up whenever we met. With a Heavy Heart we appreciate the dedication , blood sweat & tears you put into your craft. You will be dearly missed toko. Thanks for always keeping it 💯

Joe Tongi

Hailing from the friendly island of Tonga , growing up in a family of 6 boys , Joe quickly found his talent in hair cutting up family and friends.
1991-Kelston Boys - Joe quickly exploded into the cutting scene catering to the needs of teachers and both samoan and Tongan cultural groups.
1997- Upon playing rugby in the UK , Joe landed his first barber Job at an old barbershop North of Yorkshire England.
1998- returned to NZ where he wanted to further his knowledge and attended NZ Academy Of Hairdressing - fashion & formal shows.
In the same year Joe scored an opportunity to work as a hairdresser in the first Urban barbershop in West Auckland the famous Kim's Cuts.
While working he also completed his units in NZQA in Barbering.
2005- Cutting Crew
2007- Owned and operated WESTCOAST BARBERS
2011-2015 He is currently the senior barber at The GodBarber Burleigh Heads.
A true pioneer in the NZ & Australia Urban Barber Industry and one of your judges for the first ever Queensland Barber Battle bought to you by Barber Konnect.
