Exploring the Subfloor of Dooleys Catholic Club with Laser Precision. Rygate were engaged to provide a revit model of the subfloor area beneath the club. This involved not only squeezing through tight areas with the scanner on some custom legs, it also required the assistance of a handheld laser scanner.

While surveyors are well aware of the limitations of DCDB (Digital Cadastral Database) boundaries, these risks are often not obvious to other professions and the general public.
For any legal boundary identification, a Registered Surveyor should be engaged.
Here’s an example from Botany, where the boundary is out by around 4 metres, proving that even in urban areas, they often aren’t as accurate as some may think.
The lesson here is clear: relying on DCDB boundaries or Six Maps to identify legal property boundaries can lead to serious issues down the track.

Identification Surveys were very common for Philip Rygate at the turn of the century. Identification surveys are still being undertaken by the firm however now we use fandangle word processors for the reports and CAD drawing software for the sketches.
