DJ Folk Sydney UK Hardcore DJ - Playing at the upcoming Rehab, OneSeventy and Hardcore Masif events, DJ Folk was born.
DJ Folk (Andrew Norfolk) first experienced the Sydney rave scene at Happy Snax in October 2005 and he has never looked back. After witnessing the almighty Raver Baby Crew in action at Prophecy Ultraviolet in February 2006, Andrew knew that he wanted to be the man up there behind the decks; building up the crowd and making them lose control when the beat drops. rom the very beginning. Starting out in the final few years of the vinyl era, Andrew acquired a set of Technics turntables and started importing hardcore vinyls from the UK, often placing a weekly order with his favourite record store imorecords.com . Over the next few years, Folk polished his DJ skills with sets at house parties and school dances, before bursting onto the rave scene with a set at Uprise in 2009. Folk is now a regular DJ at Hardcore Masif (Masif Saturdays @ Space) and OneSeventy parties. He has also appeared at events including Subcore (Sublime @ Home), Uprise 2, One Night On Earth, Bass Control and many more. Folk is a regular DJ on Reverse The Bass online radio (reversethebass.com.au), mixing live as part of the Core Thursdays line up. Folk has also made a debut appearance on Beatz FM representing 170. Folk’s sound is influenced by the likes of Darren Styles, DJ Sy and Gammer. Within the local scene, Folk is honoured to have played b2b with some of Australia’s finest UK hardcore DJs, including Weaver, Suae, JTS, Zander, Matrix and Analog. With sets lined up at the upcoming OneSeventy and Hardcore Masif events, plus a few surprises for fans later in the year, 2013 will be the biggest year yet for Folk!
