Your NDIS plan tells the story of your supports, goals, and fundingāeverything that came out of your planning meeting. From 19 May 2025, many plans are now structured into 3-month funding periods, meaning funds are released in intervals rather than all at once. Unused funds roll over within the same plan, but not into the next one. Your my NDIS contact (LAC, early childhood partner, or NDIA) helps you make the plan workāconnecting you with services, contracts, and supports. š
š Want to dig into how funding periods affect how you can spend your supports? Ask usāweāll walk you through it.
An NDIS plan manager is a service provider that can help individuals with disabilities manage their NDIS funding. The NDIS plan manager's primary role is to take care of the financial aspects of an NDIS plan, including:
āļø Receiving and managing NDIS funds
āļø Payment of service
āļø Budgeting and record-keeping
āļø Liaising with service providers
The NDIS plan manager can provide valuable assistance to individuals with disabilities by taking care of the financial aspects of their NDIS plan, which can be complicated and time-consuming.

š§© Big improvements are on the way! The NDIS is working with the University of Melbourne and the Centre for Disability Studies to develop a new Support Needs Assessment ā set to roll out from mid-2026.
This new assessment will help create fairer and more consistent budgets by gathering information directly from participants, families, and carers about their support needs. It will also make planning easier by reducing the stress of collecting evidence and paperwork.
Built on the trusted I-CAN framework, which has been refined for over 20 years, the new tool focuses on strengths and what participants can do ā not just their challenges.
š± As plan managers, weāre here to help participants understand these upcoming changes and manage their funding confidently as the NDIS continues to evolve.
