Well… we did it.

After what felt like forever — months of planning, testing, learning, creating and patiently waiting for bars to cure — today All Things Frill handmade soap officially launched.

And seeing it sitting there on our market table for the first time was a pretty special feeling.

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped today to smell the soaps, pick them up, ask questions and chat with us about the range.

There was so much lovely interest, and I especially loved getting to talk about not only the soaps we've made, but some of the ideas we've been working towards behind the scenes.

We even had some great conversations about our upcoming Heritage range — something I'm incredibly excited to keep developing. Our goal for Heritage is a traditional tallow-based soap, scented only with essential oils and coloured naturally using clays and botanical colourants such as spinach powder. It's still in the works, but being able to talk about where we want to take this range was really lovely.

And then there was Lychee & Guava Sorbet…

Our slightly quirky little launch freebie received SO much love today! She may have been the bar that didn't quite go according to plan, but apparently all is forgiven once people smell her. I think it's safe to say we're going to need the properly behaved version in the range very soon.

English Rose, Lemon Verbena and Cactus Blossom were our most popular finding new homes today. That's a little milestone I won't forget.

A huge thank you to MakersMade Markets for hosting our launch and giving us the perfect place to finally introduce this new part of All Things Frill.

And thank you to everyone who stopped by, whether you purchased something, had a smell, asked a question or simply came over for a chat.

After what felt like forever, our soap is finally out in the world.

OMG IT’S HERE — LAUNCH DAY!

After 18 months of planning, testing, learning, making and waiting very patiently for soap to cure, today is the day our handmade cold process soap officially hits the All Things Frill market table!

We’re all set up at Makers Made Markets today at Kelmscott Showgrounds, River Road from 9am–2pm, and seeing those soaps sitting on the stand for the first time is a bit surreal.

Alongside our brand-new soap range, we’ve brought loads of your All Things Frill favourites — earrings, phone holders, trinket trays and plenty of spooky goodies for Halloween.

And because apparently launching SOAP wasn’t enough excitement for one day, there’s also a sneaky new product on the table…
Monster Photo Magnets — $10 each!

Pop your favourite photo inside and turn yourself, the kids, pets, or whoever you like into a mummy, Frankenstein or one of our other little monsters.

And because it’s Halloween AND launch day, we’re doing TRICK OR TREAT!

Every purchase today gets a little trick or treat, and every soap purchase will also receive a FREE bar of Lychee & Guava Sorbet, while stocks last.

Our slightly quirky Lychee & Guava bars might not have turned out quite as pretty as planned, but they smell absolutely divine and they're far too lovely to waste — so they're our little launch-day gift to you. The properly behaved Lychee & Guava Sorbet will be joining the range soon!

Oh my Goodness…

how are we here?!

18 months.

18 months of planning, researching, testing, learning, making, curing, tweaking, starting again and slowly working towards this moment.

And now it's all sitting there on a shelf ... labelled, ready to go, and waiting for its new homes.

This Sunday, our handmade cold process soaps officially make their market debut at the MakersMade Markets Halloween Market!

It's honestly a little surreal seeing them all together like this. What started as something quietly being planned in the background 18 months ago has finally become a whole range that we get to put on our table.

And because it's launch day, we've snuck a little something extra onto the end of that shelf…
Lychee & Guava Sorbet!

This particular batch got a little chunky when Cassie got distracted at precisely the wrong moment… and instead of sensibly pivoting, she stubbornly stuck to the original design plan.
The result? She's beautiful. Perhaps in a way only a mother could love.

She's a little quirky and rough around the edges, but she smells absolutely divine and performs exactly as we intended our soaps to perform. So rather than hide these perfectly good little oddballs away, we're giving them to you!

We'll be popping a Lychee & Guava Sorbet bar in FREE with soap purchases on Sunday, while they last.

Lychee & Guava Sorbet will officially join our Signature range in a few weeks, with a slightly more polished look, so this is your chance to try the scent early and take home a quirky little piece of our soapmaking journey at the same time.

And soap isn't the only thing coming with us!
The 3D printer is FINALLY up and running again

so we'll have some spooky Halloween phone stands along with some old favourites back on the table. And, as always, there'll be plenty of earrings too.

One last question…

Does anyone want to see the Scarebears make an appearance on Sunday? If there's enough interest, I might just have to get some made up!

It’s been a little while since I’ve made some of our umbrella earrings, and I’d forgotten just how adorable they are!

These sweet little umbrellas are making their way to The Collective Tree, along with some Scarebears and a few other specially selected Halloween styles.

A little bit of colour, a little bit of spooky, and plenty of All Things Frill cuteness heading their way!

Our last market stall without soap!

We’ve been doing a little bit of practising behind the scenes lately, squeezing all our usual All Things Frill goodies onto two tables because very soon that third table is going to have a whole new job.

Our new handmade soap range is coming!
But for today, you’ll find us in our usual bays at the Rockingham Rotary Market from 7am–12 noon, with all the colourful earrings, 3D printed goodies and favourites you’re used to seeing from us.

Come down, have a wander and pop in and say hi. Hopefully the weather decides to play nice for us today!

A little behind the scenes at All Things Frill...

Yesterday was a four-loaf soap day!

Each of our cold process soaps is handmade in small batches, with every loaf individually mixed, coloured, poured and finished by hand.

These four are now beginning their curing journey, with plenty more being made over the next week as we build our soap stock ready for the end of the year.

But before then, we have something we're very excited about...

Here’s a little peek at Cactus Blossom, one of the soaps joining our Signature range for launch. A fresh blend of citrusy orange and lime, with soft florals and warm amber, musk and cedarwood.

After months and months and months of planning, testing, making and patiently waiting for every batch to cure, it feels a little surreal that launch day is now only three weeks away.

For today, we’re here until 2pm. Come down, have a wander through the market and pop by to say hi.

White Tea & Ginger

Another of our Signature Collection soaps getting ready for launch!

White Tea & Ginger is such a beautiful, delicate fragrance, fresh bergamot and lime blend with soft florals, while warm ginger, nutmeg and musk sit underneath.

Fresh, clean and softly floral with just a little warmth.

The labelled bars are from our first batch cured, wrapped and ready to come along to our October launch, while batch number two has just been cut and is heading off on its 8-week vacation on the curing rack.

Soft pink, creamy white and a gentle sage green swirl through each bar, with touches of gold to finish them off. And because every bar is poured, swirled and cut by hand, no two ever turn out exactly the same.

Natural Oat Milk & Honey, from cure to cut

Another one of our Signature soaps getting ready for launch!

The labelled bars are from our first batch of Natural Oat Milk & Honey cured, wrapped and ready to come along to our October launch.

And beside them is batch number two, freshly cut and about to head off on its 8-week vacation while it cures.

Natural Oat Milk & Honey has no added fragrance, but that doesn't mean it has no scent at all. The oat milk and honey give the finished soap its own very subtle, slightly sweet natural aroma. It's soft and simple exactly what I wanted this bar to be.

I've also made one little change for our second batch. This time I've used colloidal oatmeal, which disperses through the soap rather than leaving the little visible oat flecks you can see in our original bars.

The golden bar is freshly cut, while the lighter bar has been curing. Cold process soap changes so much over those weeks not only becoming harder as it loses water, but changing in appearance too.

I absolutely love getting to show you these little behind-the-scenes parts of making our soaps rather than only showing you the finished bar.

The finished bars are cured, labelled and ready to go, while our newest batch has just been cut and is heading off for its 8-week vacation before it joins them.

I absolutely love seeing how a soap goes from a freshly cut bar to the finished product, so I thought I’d keep sharing a little bit of the process with you as we introduce the soaps that will be available at launch.

Avocado & Mint is soft green with delicate gold lines running through the bar and a little touch of gold across the top.

Slowly but surely, the soap shelves are filling up!
