Sometimes the hardest part of seeking another opinion is wondering if you're going to hear the same answer again.
Cenon came to his All on 4 consultation with his wife after previously being told he may need zygomatic implants. Knowing this would mean a more complex procedure, he was understandably nervous about what we would find and whether All on 4 would still be possible for him.
We started with an OPG and CBCT to properly assess his bone in three dimensions. While there was very limited bone at the front of his upper jaw, there was good bone available further back.
That allowed us to plan his All on 4 treatment without needing to use zygomatic implants.
For Cenon, the consultation brought clarity to something he had been worried about for some time.
Sometimes a second assessment isn't about looking for a different answer. It's about making sure every possibility has been properly considered.

Bone loss doesn't occur in exactly the same way for every patient.
You may have very limited bone in one area of the jaw and significantly more available somewhere else. That's why implant planning cannot be based on one area alone.
With All on 4, we assess the entire jaw to understand where predictable implant support can be achieved and which approach is appropriate for that anatomy.
More complex doesn't automatically mean better.
The aim is to use the least complex approach that can still deliver a predictable long term result.

Bad breath that keeps coming back isn't always a sign that you're not brushing well enough.
While food, dry mouth, or tooth decay can all contribute, one of the most common causes of persistent bad breath is gum disease. Bacteria beneath the gumline can continue producing unpleasant odours, even if you're brushing regularly or using mouthwash every day.
Scrubbed? Not enough. Ultrasonic cleaned? Still not enough. 😄
Our instruments go through a full sterilisation cycle, reaching the required temperature, with indicators on the packaging changing colour to show they’ve been processed.
Because clean and sterile aren’t the same thing. 🦷
We have fun, but sterilisation is something we take seriously.

Being told you don't have enough bone for conventional dental implants can sometimes lead to the recommendation of more advanced options, such as zygomatic implants.
Cenon came to us after being told this may be necessary. However, his 3D scans showed a different picture.
While there was very limited bone at the front of his upper jaw, there was good bone available further back, which meant zygomatic implants weren't required.
The goal is to find the most appropriate option for each patient. If we can achieve a predictable result without needing to take treatment to a more complex level, there is no reason to do more than necessary.
It's not about choosing the most advanced treatment. It's about choosing the right one.

Knowing what treatment you want doesn't automatically make the fear disappear.
Richard came to us with dental fear at 8 out of 10. He had done his research, knew several people personally who had completed All on 4, and felt this was the direction he wanted to take.
But deciding to do something and actually going through it are two very different things.
For someone with significant dental fear, the experience surrounding treatment matters. Knowing what is happening next, feeling supported by the people around you and having a team that understands your anxiety can make a big difference throughout the journey.
After completing his treatment, Richard told us his new teeth felt “amazingly natural” and described his experience with our team as “easy and stress free.”
But perhaps the most meaningful part of his review was much simpler.
He can now smile with a confidence he says he had never experienced before.

As back teeth are lost, chewing becomes less efficient and more pressure can be placed on the remaining teeth. If those teeth are also compromised, treating one tooth at a time may no longer provide the stability the mouth needs.
All on 4 uses strategically placed dental implants to support a fixed full arch of teeth, helping rebuild function, bite support and stability.
It's not simply about replacing missing teeth. It's about restoring how the whole arch works together.

They both scan… so why do we need both? 👀
A digital scanner captures the teeth, gums and shape of the mouth. iCam has a different job. It captures the precise 3D position of dental implants, which becomes especially important when we’re making a full arch of implant teeth.
Same patient. Two scanners. Two very different jobs.
Because when it comes to All on 4, accuracy matters. 🦷

Gum disease doesn't happen overnight.
It usually begins with mild inflammation of the gums and, if left untreated, can gradually affect the bone supporting your teeth. Because the early stages are often painless, many people don't realise there is a problem until the damage has become more advanced.
The good news is that early gum disease is often treatable, and regular dental check-ups can help detect changes before they become more serious.
If you've noticed bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, or changes in the way your gums look or feel, it's worth having them assessed sooner rather than later.
