💙 Celebrating an incredible 12 years of support

This week, our Board Member Tara was privileged to attend the annual Women’s Health Breakfast hosted by Soroptimist International South Perth, where she had the opportunity to share a little about The Essentials Collective and the work we do in our community.

The generosity of the women attending was truly amazing, with hygiene products and toiletries donated - which couldn't have come at a better time to replenish our stock.

Soroptimist International South Perth has been supporting The Essentials Collective through this event since 2014. That’s more than a decade of generosity, advocacy and community spirit.

We are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and for the difference they continue to make for people experiencing hardship across the community. Thank you to everyone who contributed yesterday.

And a very special thank you to the Soroptimist International South Perth group for standing alongside TEC for so many years. 💙

🚨 We need your help to restock our shelves!

The past few weeks have been busy for The Essentials Collective, with a number of large deliveries going out to our Beneficiary Partners supporting people experiencing homelessness, hardship and crisis across Perth.

We're incredibly grateful to have been able to meet those requests, but it's also left us out of stock of some of our most in-demand essentials.

Right now, we're urgently seeking donations of:

🧴 Shampoo & conditioner
🩷 Sanitary pads & tampons
🪒 Razors - men's & women's
💙 Deodorant - men's & women's

We were delighted to be nominated for funding, which has helped us strengthen resources and support available to our volunteers and the day-to-day operations that keep essential items moving from our shelves into the hands of people who need them most.

During Homelessness Week, we're reminded that tackling homelessness is a community effort. Businesses, schools, community groups and local organisations all have an important role to play - and hosting a donation box is one of the simplest ways to get involved.

Our next Collecting the Essentials campaign is just around the corner, and we're looking for workplaces and community organisations willing to become collection points.

The best part? We make it easy.

✔ Posters and promotional materials
✔ Digital graphics for social media and newsletters
✔ Collection and logistical support throughout the campaign

All you need to do is encourage your staff, customers or members to donate a few essential hygiene items during the campaign.

💙 It takes a community to support a community.

As we recognise Homelessness Week, we're shining a light on the incredible organisations working on the frontline to support people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Perth.

This week, our beneficiary partner No Limits Perth is bringing together an amazing network of organisations for a two-day Community Outreach Event in Marangaroo. Alongside food hampers, frozen meals, clothing and other practical support.

It's a wonderful example of what can be achieved when charities, community groups, volunteers and local organisations work together with a shared purpose.

💙 Today marks the beginning of Homelessness Week.

This week is an opportunity to recognise the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, while also acknowledging the incredible organisations and volunteers who work tirelessly to provide support, hope and practical assistance every day.

At The Essentials Collective, we're privileged to work alongside more than 35 frontline organisations across Perth, helping ensure the people they support have access to essential hygiene and personal care items.

From emergency accommodation and outreach services to community pantries and drop-in centres, our beneficiary partners are there when people need them most. We're continually inspired by their compassion, dedication and commitment to our community.

This week, we'll be shining a light on some of these incredible organisations and sharing practical ways our community can make a difference.

Because addressing homelessness isn't the responsibility of one organisation alone - it takes all of us working together.

💙 Every beanie, scarf and pair of gloves has found someone who needed them.

Over the past few weeks, we've been busy delivering the final winter warmth items collected during our Collecting the Basics campaign to beneficiary partners supporting people experiencing homelessness across Perth.

This week, another delivery made its way to Perth Homeless Support Group (pictured) and The Crew Rockingham, helping ensure people doing it tough have access to practical essentials during the coldest months of the year.

To everyone who donated, hosted a collection box, volunteered or supported the campaign, 💙Thank You💙. Your generosity has made a real difference, and thanks to recent donations, we're continuing to replenish our shelves with much-needed toiletries and personal care items.

With Homelessness Week just around the corner, it's a timely reminder that homelessness doesn't end when winter does. Frontline organisations continue to support people every day of the year, and we're proud to stand alongside them.
