While our Allied Health team were in Zimbabwe working alongside the team at the King George VI Hospital, they were each taught how to sign their names and professions in Zimbabwean Sign Language.

This was a special reminder that communication isn’t always verbal but has a way of connecting people.

Here is the team signing in Zimbabwean Sign Language.

Our PNG Training Team arrived safely in Wewak yesterday and were warmly welcomed by Sister Linda and Dr. Julius at the airport.

After settling into their rooms, they visited the retreat centre where the team will be training over 30 CHW’s this coming week. Please pray for the team as they prepare for a busy week ahead.

Today (Sunday) the team will be attending the Wewak AOG church with Sister Linda before lunch and then plan on enjoying an afternoon of sightseeing and visiting the Australian Army War memorial at WOM Bay with Dr. Julius.

Please pray for rain in PNG, good rains are only expected in December/January, and the town is very dry and many of the surrounding villages are struggling to get drinking water.

Thank you for your prayers and support. We feel privileged to be here to teach and train other health workers. The team are looking forward to learning from the Papua New Guineans along the way.

Our Allied Health Team returned safely to Australia today. Many thanks to Karina, Carrisa, Shelby and Makailah for all their hard work and to our partners at Sizolwethu for their support. It’s your time to rest now.

We're so grateful that this team had the opportunity to walk alongside, train and encourage their colleagues in various disability spaces in Bulawayo. This level of collaboration will bring lasting results for those who need their special care.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers while this team was away.

Last night, another Cosmos Alliance team departed for Papua New Guinea to continue our mission of strengthening healthcare and capacity building through training health workers.

Our team consists of three nurses and a pharmacist, together they will work alongside local healthcare professionals, sharing knowledge and delivering training that will leave a long-lasting impact at the village level and in the referral hospital.

Please keep our team, our local partners and the communities they'll be working with in your thoughts and prayers as they begin this journey.

The team spent time in Matobo last weekend to resting, reflecting and appreciating the beauty of Zimbabwe and the amazing animals before returning refreshed for a few more days of service.

Working alongside our partners, the team continued to train healthcare professionals and disability support staff. They participated in community outreach clinics, completed home visits and shared practical knowledge to help strengthen local healthcare. It was especially rewarding for them to see some previous teaching already being put into practice, highlighting a lasting impact.

Please continue to send pray for the team as they wrap up the trip, say their goodbyes and travel back this coming weekend.

After a long journey from Perth via Singapore and Ethiopia, our Allied Health Team safely arrived in Zimbabwe last Saturday.

After the long stopovers, cramped flights and airport queues, the team arrived in Bulawayo in good spirits and received a warm welcome from our partners at Sizolwethu Mobile Health . Their first couple of days were spent settling in, reconnecting with familiar faces, finalising training resources and attending a local church service before their work officially began.

Yesterday, the team joined a Sizolwethu community outreach program, supporting basic health assessments, assisting with patient care and experiencing firsthand the incredible work being done to bring healthcare to remote communities. Visiting the communities Sizolwethu serves, helped them gain a deeper appreciation of the Zimbabwan context and daily health challenges many families face.

We're excited to continue following their journey over the coming weeks and look forward to sharing more stories from the field.
