Hope you are all enjoying the school holidays and having some extra family time..
Just an update to welcome all the new residents to the area, there has been quite a big shift in homes sold and new families coming into the suburb.
If anyone would like to share this page to any new residents please do so. Feel free to look at previous post to see what this suburb has achieved over many years and its community driven outcomes.
If you would like to know more please feel free to inbox.
Just a quick update regarding John Stone Park.
We have again achieved some positives in the way of upgrades. Although it takes several years for the plans to be created, approved, and actioned the work is almost complete.
If you have lived here 10 years or so you would remember the "playground" that once consisted of the snake slide/rock wall and the springy seat. Excitement plus for all the kids. 😄
We as a community group set out to change the dull playground..
Everything there now has been planned and created by the residents over many years. As for being an older suburb we dont have the funding allocated like new estates do by developers.
We have since created a full 360° nature play track around the main playground area, new seating, benches and upgraded basketball surface and equipment.
All new playground equipment added to the central sandpit, upgraded bmx track, then the bbq, and recently the new gazebo and the new slide/climb combo.
Next will be some small pathway art for the kids and an all abilities seat will replace the current infant seat. Also the big "dead" tree and two others will be removed due to termite damage and three new trees will be planted. The bmx track will be resurfaced again also.
There will be no further upgrades once these are completed.
We have seen many people using these facilities and are so happy we have achieved what we set out to do over 10 years ago.
