Have been thinking about this shot for a while - Sugarloaf Rock under the MW. Was an almost perfect night, no Moon or Venus, but unfortunately quite a bit of fast moving unpredictable cloud around. I tried to work between cloud banks as they came through and deal with the residual clouds as best I could. I think the red glow to left of frame is light from Cape Naturaliste lighthouse.

Sky is 16 frames at ISO 3200 / f2.8 / 20” stacked in StarryLandscapeStacker. Foreground is single twilight image ISO 100 / f11 / 44” using 10 stop ND filter. Shot on Canon 1DX Mkii, 16-35L 2.8 iii @ 23mm.

Outback sunrise... the red dust of the Aussie Outback gives first sunlight an amazing warmth. A bit of patchy cloud on the horizon helped with the sun's painterly texture. Taken this morning at Ninghan Station, around 400km NE of Perth, what an awesome spot!

Working a bit more on astrophotography - still a few things to figure out... Galactic Centre over Yallingup last month. It was directly overhead so only foreground I could get was some tree tops.

Back to Cottesloe. Was so windy even the tripod wasn't stable enough most of the time.

Rainbow Lorikeets round 1, Nitmiluk NT

Camouflage much? Spinifex pigeon, near Timber Creek, NT. These birds seem happy to pose for you and you can get pretty close if moving carefully.
