WASMEx medal stands - back by popular demand!

WASMEx needs volunteers to operate.
Without it there will be no show.
Here is an opportunity to join the operations side and get free admission to the Expo.
We are looking for 6 volunteers to provide 2 hours of your time over the weekend and your in for free. We will provide information on the assistance required.
In particular the Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

Hi All,

As with all things in the world today – the cost of running WASMEx has been increasing constantly, for items such as hall hire costs, insurance, first aid, medals / trophies and prizes. Additionally, the WASMEx committee are always looking for ways to incrementally improve the expo - from additional lighting to professional signage as examples.
Following a period of over 10 years without an increase, we are unable to continue to absorb the increasing costs and the committee has agreed to change the admission fee this year.
The new admission fee will be $15 per person with children under 8 years old entering for free.
Competition entry is still free this year – that is – no additional charge on top of the standard admission fee.
We hope you all understand the need for this and look forward to your continuing support for WASMEx 2026.

Important message:

For all those who have enjoyed attending WASMEx in the past, please know that each show is the result of a lot of work behind the scenes. The show does not, and cannot happen without volunteer’s supporting it. Without volunteers – there will not be a show – including 2026.
It may be just providing a few hours to help at the entry gate, assist on opening to guide people with their models to the correct place in the competition hall, judging on the Saturday afternoon or to assist in the setup and packup.
The call will increase as the date approaches and many hands make light work.

Currently the committee are seeking interest for the following ongoing volunteer roles:

Vendor liaison
Club liaison
Stores quartermaster
