One of our candidates just told us something we hear a lot: 'I didn't realise how much I was worth until you ran the numbers.'
He'd been in the same role for three years. Good money, steady work. But the market had moved on without him noticing.
We pulled together Perth salary data for his skill set and level. Turned out he was about $12k under where similar roles were paying. Not massive, but enough to matter when you're supporting a family.
This is why we always chat to candidates about what the market is actually paying. It's not about getting greedy. It's about getting paid fairly for what you do.
If you're wondering whether your salary is tracking with the Perth IT market, drop us a line. We'll give you a confidential read on what similar roles are paying right now.

Remote work in IT: what actually works and what doesn't.
We've placed IT staff across Perth MSPs for years. Remote roles are real, but they come with tradeoffs. Swipe through to see what we've learned about working from home in tech.
Slide 1: Remote work adoption in Perth IT teams is up. But not every role suits it.
Slide 2: The jobs that work best remotely - infrastructure, security, some sysadmin roles. The ones that don't - L1 support, hands-on network builds, site-based defence work.
Slide 3: The real cost of remote: you need discipline, clear comms, and the right tools. Miscommunication gets expensive fast.
Slide 4: Hybrid is winning. Most Perth MSPs we work with run 2-3 days onsite, 2-3 remote. That balance actually gets results.
Slide 5: Remote roles pay slightly less on average. But you save on travel and get flexibility. The math changes depending on what matters to you.
Slide 6: Not all remote roles are equal. Some employers monitor every keystroke. Others trust you completely. Ask the right questions before you sign.

If you're hiring in Perth IT right now, you need to know what the market is actually paying.
We built the Perth IT Market Salary Guide 2026 to cut through the guesswork. It shows you real salary ranges for L1 support, sysadmins, security roles, infrastructure engineers, and senior technical positions across Perth MSPs and internal IT teams.
Why it matters: if your offer sits outside the market, you'll lose candidates to competitors. If you overpay without knowing it, you waste budget you could use elsewhere.
The guide breaks down what Perth IT professionals earn by role, experience, and speciality. It takes two minutes to use.

Your employer just matched the offer you were about to accept somewhere else. Feels good, right? Here's the thing: most people who stay after a counteroffer are gone within 18 months anyway.
Why? Because the reason you looked in the first place hasn't changed. The workload, the culture, the pay trajectory, the lack of career movement, counteroffers patch the leak but don't fix the boat.
Your employer is also now flagging you as a flight risk. Promotions, good projects, and training budgets get handed to people who seem committed for the long haul.
If you're testing the market, that's smart. Find out what you're genuinely worth and what's actually available. But if you're unhappy enough to look, a pay bump alone won't fix that.
We've placed hundreds of Perth IT people. The ones who move on their own terms, not after a panic counteroffer, report better fit, better pay growth over time, and better stress levels.
If you're thinking about moving or just want to know what the market is actually paying in Perth IT right now, have a confidential chat with us. No pressure, no noise.

How long does it actually take to fill an IT role in Perth? Most recruiters will tell you 4-6 weeks. We do it in 2 weeks on average.
That's not magic. It's because we know the Perth IT market inside out. We place people into MSPs, internal IT teams, and infrastructure roles every week. We know who's looking, who's ready to move, and who fits your culture.
When you've got a role open, every week costs you. Unfilled positions mean your team is stretched. Projects slip. Knowledge walks out the door.
If you're a hiring manager or IT decision-maker sitting on a vacant role, let's talk. Drop us your role and we will quote the search. No pressure, no long-winded process. Just a conversation about what you need and how fast we can get you sorted.

One of our L2 support folks just landed a role at a growing Perth MSP, and their feedback was gold: 'I felt like OUI actually listened to what I wanted, not just what looked good on a resume.'
That's the guts of it, really. We spend time understanding what you're after - the tech stack, the team, the commute, the growth path - because a payrise means nothing if you're miserable.
If you're job hunting in IT and want someone who gets that, have a confidential chat with us.

Do you know what skills you're actually missing?
We've built a free tool that helps Perth IT teams and MSPs spot the gaps in their technical skills before they become a headache. No signup. No sales pitch. Just straight answers.
The IT Skills Gap Analyser takes five minutes and shows you exactly where your team sits against industry benchmarks. You'll see what roles you need to hire for, what training might close the gap, and what your competitors are probably doing right now.
We've placed hundreds of IT professionals across Perth, and we've noticed that teams who take this step make smarter hiring decisions faster.
Give it a go. It's free.

First IT job in Perth? Here's what actually works.
We've placed dozens of L1 support staff and junior engineers into Perth MSPs and in-house teams. The ones who move fastest aren't always the smartest, they're the ones who do three things:
1. Get specific about what you want. "IT support" is too vague. Say whether you want MSP helpdesk, internal IT, or field work.
2. Build a small lab at home. A Hyper-V box, some old switches, or even GNS3 on your laptop. When you can talk through what you've actually broken and fixed, hiring managers listen.
3. Get your CompTIA A+ or equivalent before you apply widely. It costs $300-500 and signals you're serious. Employers see it and move you higher in the pile.
The market is real. Perth MSPs are hiring. But they're hiring people who show up ready to work, not people hoping someone will train them from zero.
If you want to talk through your first move, CV, certifications, where to look, drop us a line. We know the Perth IT market inside out and we'll give you honest feedback.

One of our L2 support people landed a role at a growing MSP in Canning Vale this week. She told us afterwards: 'I was nervous about the interview, but OUI prepped me properly and the hiring manager was genuinely interested in what I'd actually done, not just buzzwords.'
That's the thing about good recruitment. It's not about selling you short or overselling the role. It's about matching the right person to the right team, where both sides know what they're signing up for.
If you're hiring and want to get past the usual suspects, or you're looking to move into a role where your experience actually counts, let's have a confidential chat.
